damn, after reading all that i feel kinda bad, makes me feel like i should be doing more with myself. hehe. 29, divorced ( dont ask ) and work at a hospital. mom works for an insurance company so the insurance is good ( also have a 97 eclipse that is "slightly" modded ), it keeps the insurance to about 1200 a year for both with 500/500 deductables. and the monthly payment on the evo is around 450.

i just got the car about 2 weeks ago this coming saturday. waited almost 2 years to get out from under a $1500/month alimony payment. it was worth the wait. i absolutely love the car. makes the long days at work seem like nothing when i get to leave and drive her home.

i agree with what alot of people are posting on here, make sure that you can afford the car and still live comfortably. props to all the under 25 crowd that supports themselves. wished i would have known what i wanted to do when i graduated highschool. could have been 22 and making the money i am now instead of waiting several years to start.

my total car payment is about 500 a month for an 04 xterra and an 05 evo and my insurance is about 185 a month for both cars.
Gotta love the Evo/Xterra combo!!!!
My payment is higher, but I put nothing down on it. Borrowing money for 1.9%, why would I want to rush paying that off?
insurance runs about $130 a month for both. 500 ded, full coverage on everything.
House is with same company.

I'm a computer geek, wife has her own appraisal business

For Me I'm 26 and a product manager for an on-line ad company.

Some one a while back said you need to make 50 to afford an Evo in CA. I live in LA I think its more with our $279 gas. I also wonder how many people really "afford" and Evo. When I hear things: like "21,work at starbucks or insert other low paying job here" or the like how do you pay rent/insurance/gas on that type of pay? and even more confusing some of those guys are mod hounds?

I'm not insulting I am asking becuase it seems like I missed a how not to **** away money class somewhere.

22 and a Sgt. in the U.S. Army. 3 more months and I will have paid off the Evo and the STi. If deployments are good for anything it is saving money.

18 and work for a close friends company. I make enough to pay for my apartment, cars (look at sig) and have good leftover pocket money. Dad pays for education and co-signed loan for subie (didint give me any money though).

Guess if I stopped spending so much on the RX7 and got rid of subie payments I could get an evo, but too late now
