The SW filter they use is nearly 7 times thicker at 14.07mm. You say cotton gauze catches more dirt and sand then foam, then why does almost everyone in motocross use foam (which is one one the dirtiest sports out there)? You need to stop hating and get of your pedastole.

I am not defending anyone. I am not advising foam filters worse than cotton gauze. What I am saying is that the HKS Super Mega flow filter that comes with the RS kit does NOT filter sand. I found sand inside my MAF sensor and some sandblasting on my compressor wheel.

Because of this I now run an Apexi Power Intake filter which was tested in Japan about 3 or 4 years ago and proven to be the best JDM filter at that time. The K&N type filter was second in that test, if I remember correctly.

I dont think anyone has any first hand testing or experience with sand infiltration problems with the Secret Weapon filter, so I dont think they were picking on your filter.

How is it "different" in regard to filtration and flow properties?

You could just get an Outwears prefilter. Works good for me.

Because foam filters are cheap and you can throw them away when they get dirty

I always thought if the intercooler showed lower charge temp then it would be ok no matter how much hp you're putting through. Guess I gotta reevaluate this area...
Do u have the dyno graph of 615 on wheels? coz i never heard that any evo in KL has got power around that ... which dyno ?
