Boost Gauge tap inconsistency

Hey guys,

Im setting up the boost gauge for my Blitz TT but having trouble understanding where to tap. Obviously in the how too section there are these two articles:

http://www.jonesland.com/evo/BoostGauge_Install.htm

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=98114

However, they both tap in different sections right near each other. Both appear to be vacuum hoses, one is on the left of the oil dipstick, the other on the right. I doubt it would matter which I tap but is there a better / worse one?

Also, should I use the T pillar that came with the TT? It appears to be the right size but i'd rather know before I starting clipping hoses...

Thanks in advance.

Use the one directly attached to the intake manifold, before it goes into that valve. You can tee is after aswell as far as I know.

Is that last sentance encripted?

I tapped my boost gauge in the the line to the right of the oil dipstick, but I noticed the same thing, some do it on the left, is there a better way or what?

Tapping it from the line directly off of the manifold provides for a direct reference of the manifold pressure before it goes into that solenoid.

If you tap the line from the solenoid to the FPR, you will receive a modified (potentially lower or higher) signal that is not an indication of what pressure is actually entering the motor.

The manifold reference is always best!

THE ONE COMING RIGHT OFF OF THE MANIFOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

who cares about the dipstick, just cut the line at a spot between the intake manifold and the FPR

So from the two locations referenced in this thread, seems like the short line to the right of the dipstick is where you want to T it from? I'm curious cause I T it off the hose to the left of the dipstick (longer line) and just wanted to make sure its correct.

Im not looking at any pics of a dipstick, i have no idea where the dipstick is in relation to the vac hoses on the intake manifold.

All im telling you is, tap into the line that has one end DIRECTLY coming from the intake manifold.

I teed right into the line from the manifold to the BOV reference port. Appears to read responsivly and accurate, and it doesnt use any air just reads it so the BOV isn't affected. Furthermore, I'll be getting a custom DF tune in several weeks to confirm if my boost psi's read correctly.
