Whoa now,

What's with some of you guys spazzing out? Don't shoot the messenger, here.

Some of you guys are getting awfully worked up. Ok, so it didn't happen to you, but it's clear here that it's happening to SOMEBODY, because most people posting have heard of this happening, or have experienced it first-hand. Calm down.

Well, as long as Mitsubishi is aware of the problem, and attended to it, I guess it's no longer a problem! Is there a recall or TSB out on this?

 

I wasn't worrying about the noise causing the motor to die, but rather just the concept of stalling while in gear. I have an after market alarm that require the driver enter a code everytime the motor starts, fail to do so would result in the alarm system cutting off the engine after some time. I was afraid one day I'll forget and the alarm would cut off the engine while I'm in gear, but if you say the car would still keep on rolling instead of suddenly stop as if I hit a wall and have the transmission ripped into pieces, then there goes my worries about f****** up the car because of what could've been a silly mistake on my part.
