salesman stories

ok... so i figured we have all got our own salesmen stories..

i went to the dealer today... now im 17 years old... i drive a 1990 nissan sentra, and for my first new car that i would buy i would get an evo...

so i went to see the evo today...
and when i get tehre... I have to be the one asking for them to help me out.

as the salesman started explaining things about the car i quickly thought about all the things i have read in this forum.

i was looking at an mr and he quickly started saying that the mr has the mivec engine now, i corrected him and said that the evo ix has the mivec.

then he told me that the acd was only on the mr, again i said that the acd actually was put in all the evo ix's.

at this point i began just thinking of the stuff that the evo has that i know.. and just stop beliving him.

and he just said, boy you look like your only 16 how do you know all this stuff about this car, and i just said, well cause i actually have researched about the car.

hahaha anyways.. you guys have all gone through this.

made me laugh, but then i showed my mom the car and she fell in love... hahahah she was like, these seats are really comfortable hahah.

just thought id share my experiences with everyone.

feel free to post some of yours.

IC Sprayer

My stealsperson told me that my '05 had an IC sprayer. Bastards don't know what they are sellin' half the time, they'll tell you anything to buy the car. Peace.

Dude, I was actually told that my car was evo # XXX of 999 because it was a "limited edition"and I had to explain to the guy that Mitsubishi has been building tens of thousands of these cars for the past decade.

Dealers should just shut up, hand over the keys to the DEMO (unforunately many dealership don't have a designated demo) and let the car do the talking.

Thank God the salesmen i bought my car from didn't really say much. I hate car salesmen for the most part. Rarely do they know anything about the car that i don't. The cars is selling itself not the salesmen. My salesmen pulled it out of the showroom so i could drive it, and said step on it. I like those kinds

two mouths ago when the new sti came out i went a subaru dealer to cheek it out.with a friend that was looking at a wrx. as my friend looked over the wrx i went and looked at the sti a sales man came out and says "your looking at the vette killer" i preceded to laugh my a$$ of at him and told him about track test that had been done and that even a c5 was to faster then the sti he then told me that the sti would beet a vette every time in the rain I then told him you would have to be stupid to race a vette in the rain. he then shut up and let me cheek out the engine.

also its funny to ask the Mitsubishi dealers about the sti and the subaru dealers about the evo and then counter them buy saying what makes one better then the other.

At least my salesman was honest saying "You probably know more about this car than me."

I walked out of my local Mitsubishi dealer when they told me an Evo had a better tranny than an STi and better built quality...I'm not hating on the Evo at all but in my opinion the STi is a more structurally sound vehicle as well as crash test scores...And we all know about the famous Evo clutch

i test drove the evo here in philly and right off the bat the guy says to me
"listen im not going to try and sell you this car, they sell themselves. and to be honest with you im sure you know 100x more about it than i do, otherwise you wouldnt be standing here. so lets go for a drive."
makes me wish i bought it from him right there but they didnt have a black one...

while they should be knowlegable about what they sell at least he was straight up about it. im sure had i been there to buy an endeavor or something he would have known a lt more about it.

I had the greatest dealership experience. I bought from Rick Case Mitsu of Gwinnett in Georgia. My salesman Tim has an '03 evo, so he knew what he was talking about. The sales manager has a 500hp evo. I was taken care of and in good hands.
