The EJ25 is a good motor, but not as strong as the 4g63, which is the main reason why I'm going with an Evo over an STi. Not to mention the fact that the VF39 turbocharger in the STi is extremely small for that kind of motor limiting it to about 300-320whp maxxed out. That is the reason why you don't see 11 second STi's with stock turbo's. They will need a bigger turbo or use nitrous to hit 11 second runs.

 

this guy doesnt get it. i guess the 2.0 liter ecoteck in a ford focus is as strong as a 4g63 as well. There are built ones making lots of power. WERE TALKING ABOUT BONE STOCK MOTORS. FACE IT the ej25 is weaker stock for stock.

If you honestly think you could make more power on a STOCK EJ25 Vs. a Stock 4G63, your nothing but a delusional fan-boy. I am sorry but there is not other way to say this. 4G63>EJ25 Stock vs. Stock. Modded, who the hell knows? I still say the 4G63 simple because of the vast knowledge that already exists.



STI is a great car, but you can’t compare the motors in terms of modding ability, the STI is a far 2nd, I mean they just don’t hold the power as well nor can they combat the detonation as well.





Now if you somehow imported the JAP STi 2.0 motor, that bad boy is killer and strong.
