Recaro Infant Seats

Has anyone purchased Recaro Infant Seats yet? I'm looking to pick up a set for my two little ones that will match the interior on my car and would appreciate any feedback such as price and reputable places/sites to purchase them from.

I've found a few sites that sell them but want to make sure they are worth the $$ before I pick them up.

Thanks in advance

Dragin,

Those seats are totally awesome! I sold a customer a 2006 EVO IX RS RR last Saturday from OK. He had one for his son and I was completely impressed with the quality and price. He said he paid $250.00!

Best regards,

While I do sell these seats, I don't feel a child should sit forward facing until they're considered a toddler. Ask your doctor and they'll probably tell you the same. Infants need a good rear facing seat to help protect their neck/spine.

Once they're big enough, go for it. Recaro's other child seats have been rated very high in terms of safety and I expect the new Young Sport model will be no different.

Well, yeah, the seats are for children, not infants, but they're supposed to be releasing an infant seat this month. The Young Sport says 18-80lbs, which is not for infants, although it's close. I'm hoping to get the one for infants and then the one for 12mos-4yrs...

Thanks for the link to the other post. I forgot to do a search before I posted this. I have a 2 year old and a 3 week old. The two year old is already forward facing and within the correct weight limit, the three week old however has a ways to go before he would be forward facing. I wanted to pick up two so that I could have a matching set in case the model/color I chose gets discontinued.

Thanks for the info everyone!

If they made a rear facing seat so it was safe for infants I'd gladly offer it, but they don't. Believe me...if it was out there I'd have one for my kid.

You may want to check out Speedware Motorsports

I bought a set of Speeds from them a year ago and never had a problem with them.

As I said above, they're supposed to be releasing one any time now, or so their website says (Nov 2005).
