Forge MBC
So, i spent alot of time lookingh for how to installmy new and shiny Forge MBC. There are plenty of threads on it but most of them ask the same thing, how do i install my Forge MBC ? Mike from Forge said that he was going to do a write up on how to do it incorporating pictures , but still nothing. So does anyone have a how to on installing the FOrge MBC with pictures. I tried to look at the post that gve the Hallaman as an example but that tells you to cap off all some lines (never with what to cap it off with) and remove some other lines. It also shows tapping off the BOV which Al says not to do because of side affects, so to me that write up doesn't look like a good example. So does anyone have a wite up for the Forge Unos MBC install ?
It's the same as any MBC. Just choose the method you prefer (bov/intake line or turbo nipple) and follow the write-up. There's write-ups for both on this site, and you can find them at Evomoto as well as Hallman's website.
You really don't know what it means by "capping"? You just put a cap on the nipple. They usually come with the MBC, but if the Forge doesn't have caps, go get some at Autozone. Another trick for capping off the 2 BCS nipples is to take a small piece of vaccuum hosing and loop it onto both nipples.

You mean Forge sells the part and doesn't inlude installation instructions?? Seriously, that's like the chicken before the egg. Forge needs to correct this error. Don't sell parts without installation instructions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok check this out..it's really not that hard once you get everything out of the way.
first take of all the junk in the way, airbox and intercooler piping, the radiator fan was the hardest, i just moved it aside.
second, if you search you'll find pix of where the hoses need to go. the bottom npple of the forge goes to the wastegate, the back end of the mbc goes to the turbo outlet, which is right next to the wastegate. the wastegate actuator, which is about a foot to the right, all you have to do is take one of the hoses and use one end for one nipple, the other end to the other nipple.
third, put everything back on and set your mbc. you are goign to be turning the forge mbc MANY times before you get to your desired psi.
hope this helps

The wastegate is inside the turbo. It's a little flap that releases boost pressure. No hoses get connected to this.
The wastegate actuator controls the wastegate. The bottom nipple connects to the wastegate actuator.
Since you're using the MBC to control boost now, you no longer need the boost solenoid. There are 2 hoses running out of the solenoid. Simply pull one out, cut the other short and loop it to the nipple from the hose you just pulled out.
You can go to Autozone or Pep Boys, or any auto center and ask for vacuum caps. I believe the size that worked well for me was 3/16" caps.
The Forge MBC doesn't come with any hoses either. While you're picking up the vacuum caps, also look for a silicone hose kit. You only need about 2-3 feet of 1/8" diameter hose, but you'll probably have to end up buying a whole pack.
There are some great diagrams on this site on how to install a Hallman MBC. The Forge hooks up the same way. I set it up t-ing of my BOV, IMO it's the way to go, and most people agree.
After reading these post I think I may have insatlled my Forge MBC backwards. I have the hose from the wastegate actuator going to the side of the MBC and the turbo nipple hose going to the bottom. However, I'm still making boost and have been able to turn the boost up and down.
I was under the impression if an MBC was hooked up backwards it would only make 10psi is this not true?

It's not that hard to hook one up, if one has any idea of how a turbo car works it should not be that hard to hook up a MBC. Come on man you buy the car and don't know how to hook up a MBC?????????????????????????
Did you search?!? Bad Boy!!
Use the pics in this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&highlight=mbc
The first pic shows the Wastegate actuator (left) and turbo outlet (right). connect a hose from the turbo outlet nipple to the bottom of the Forge MBC, then from the side port back to the Wastegate actuator. remove all the rest of the tubing, cap off the two ports on the boost solenoid (under airbox) and cap off the nipple where the hose goes from the boost solenoid to the air intake pipe.
READ HERE WHY FORGE RECOMMENDS TO INSTALL OFF TURBO OUTLET INSTEAD OF BOV LINE.

In most cases on pump gas you can just turn it down all the way with the light spring and hold a really nice 21 psi
For more boost the heavy spring comes with it
Go directly off the turbo discharge to the MBC and then back to the wastegate with your hoses - I suggest NOT going off the bov as that can result in the bov opening slightly as the MBC actuates

1. Alright "buddy", weare not all car experts and some of us have never delt with a turbo car hence having newies on the board. So keep your snide better than thou attitude in your ride. By the way , i haven't seen you post any write-ups for how to install a MBC. If you can't make your post constructive or helpfull then stop trying to boost your thread count by adding useless responces.
2. No my Forge didn't come with any instructions which ( in my many thread post of reading on the "installation of the Forge MBC" was addressed by Mike@forge) and it makes it harder to install a part that you have never done before, especially when i don't want to mess up my car. Oh and by the way, no, my MBC didn't come with nipples. Oh and i should just go into the local AutoZone and purchase some. So just walk right in and ask someone who is even dumber than i am and ask them for nipples.... riiiiiight.
3. The saying "its just like hooking up any other MBC" is like telling a person to drive a stick shift when they never have driven one then saying "it's just like driving any other stick shift", don't even bother saying it.
4. So then i do have to remove all the T fittings and lines that go everywhere like they hallaman write up or don't i ? Some people on this post don't even know if they hooked their MBC up right! So who am i to listen to... anyone ? Right now all i have is snide comments and unsure installation instructions, and the sinic in me tells me that that won't get my MBC installed. So can someone who has some knowledge on the subject please walk me through this so i can make a write up on it ???
