Nice car so far - Trunk hard to close.?

Everything that I have recently read leads to me believe this car is what we thought it was. Stock Mid 13's in the ¼, .97g lateral accelaration, great brakes.... all for $30k.

I don't have enough miles to make any judgement. That SCC article was kind of funny...they beat the hell out of that thing and in the end it only had 550 miles.... imagine once the engine gets broken in better...

Anyone have any trouble closing their trunk? I have to really slam mine to make it work. I am a big *****, so that may be the problem.

Lancer trunks are all notorious for this.

Really?? All I have to do is breathe on my trunk as it closes and it secures.. Everything is in tip top shape... Love it more everytime I get into it...

The wing perched on the edge of the trunklid really counterbalances the lid. All I need to do is give a light flick, and it closes very easily.

But I'm not able to tell if it latched properly. The "click" from the latch engaging is very faint.

SC~ who is loving the Evo!

My Lancer ES is the same, I have to somewhat slam it to shut.

ya, luckily after a few half hearted attempts, a lady i work with who has a lancer said "you gotta slam it"...so.. i slammed it...

I have never had a car that needed that much authority on the trunk.

Hey, its a sturdy car.. just don't scratch it.. Actually I experienced the same thing, and the trunk lid feels so light, that your afraid to give it a good slam.. but in the end.. a good solid shut is all it needs.. It will get easier to do once it wears a little though.
