To all the people asking bout the stock IX turbo, just understand that I asked first
post #25, So if it goes up for sale, I believe I should be very close to, if not, at the front of the line.

Enough bickering... let's see some numbers!

Then we can see how good/bad etc all the parts are.

I certainly understand the point of seeing how well the car responds to HKS parts, but I just wonder who thought it up. There would be FAR MORE to gain by putting all HKS parts on a IX with stock turbo and stock ECU than going with a turbo that isn't well-liked in the Evo community and a tuning device that no one knows how to use. If the goal is just to prove something to yourself, SPE, or HKS, then I understand. If the point is to ultimately show the Evo community how well HKS products work and make money, then I think it's a big waste of time and someone is missing the boat, since most owners won't be touching the turbo or the ECU.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what happens, since it will be a different combo that no one else will probably be using.
HKS is a smart company. Their products are highly sought throughout the world. I think they knew what they were doing when they released this turbo kit to the Evolution community and the public in general. Granted, not too many people do know how to use the F-Con right and there's a reason. It gives the product a good reputation. I've noticed that people who have the ability to tune their own cars run into more problems then those who have their cars tuned by trained operators of aftermarket engine mangement software systems. Speaking of which, the F-Con VPro is the most sought after engine management in Japan. Top Fuel, Top Secret, Amuse, Veilside, Esprit and many other companies just to name a few are some of the top tuners in Japan that use the F-Con VPro and sell it under their own tuning setups depending on vehicle makes and upgrades. Maybe what Evasive is doing will give knowledge to others on the board and help them decide for future purchases. Mike, we're behind you all the way!

That is exactly what Evasive Motorsports is going after. They're just trying to show and educate the public on a different/alternative engine management or route than from the ordinary. They're not out to try and start brand wars or compete with other tuning software already available for the EVO community. I just please urge everyone to keep their own opinions at bay UNTIL the project is complete. Afterwards there will be hard facts that cannot be disputed. Then everyone can take it from there...

Oh yeah, BTW Megan parts on a MR?

yeah but from what we have been hearing up wards of 90% of the improvement comes from the turbo, the remainder fromm Mivec. It seems that a good set of cams could perhaps equal the Mivec and if you swap out the turbo then I'm not sure I get it either.

If I'm not mistaken Dave Buschur did some tuning on the 9 with the F-Con, which by the way I have heard good things about. The most popular is not always the best.

every body knows an $800 HKS titanium exhaust makes 50 hp more than the Megan $300 exhaust.

All that $$$ under the hood and you are still going to have to roll down the windows by hand.
