Dude - its not how long you have it in there - its how hard you push the car .. have you pulled the probe out like TurboLarry suggested and see if the condom that surrounded the probe was burnt off? Thats pretty much a clear indicator on if you should change the probe or not ... What type of response were you trying to get exactly bro?

I think they last at least 1 or 2 years? I figure that I'll replace mine when the element breaks off / burns away, or when my gauge tells me the sensor is dead.

I just bought one from ebay to use, it is for a "K" type 2 wire gauge so we will see how it goes. I will post my results so people can know becuase it was only 40 bucks compaired to the 80-125 which is what I was priced for a Defi replacement.

mine lasted less than 100 miles....directions on placement at the time, and from GREDDY tech support, indicated closer to cyl head the better. Well, it burnt out in no time. Now the new location is 12 inches down from the flange on the DP. Greddy replaced it at no charge due to false info. I kind of lucked out.

here's a pic from the first burnt EGT sensor

Damn! glad they replaced yours. We'll see how long mine lasts, I've got it in the #1 runner, maybe 6 inches from the head. The red light blinks on the EGT gauge to let you know that the sensor died, right?

I don't have warning gauges. I have the GREDDY 52mm white face elec EGT, Boost, and Oil Pressure gauges. The only way I knew it was bad, was when I started watching the needle on the gauge bounce around like crazy. At first GREDDY wasn't going to replace it. They said "too bad, it's a race product. No Warranty." Well after talking to them on the phone they understood everything. The emails they said were "not informative enough." But all is well now, and it's been about 2 weeks since the new one was installed. It took about 3 months to get a new one from them. They needed to "analyze" it. But it was frustrating seeing all the other gauges in the pod working and that one not. I didn't let this incident change my way about the products they make.

Peace

Ok I recieved the new probe that I purchased on ebay. It works perfectly! I did a write up on it for future reference. I included a link and pics. Not bad for 39.99 + shipping.
