Question Weird noise at 2K rpm!

The other day while driving I noticed that whenever my car is at the ~2K RPM range, I can hear a weird clunking or rattling noise. I think it's coming from under the car right below my seat. My first impressions is that it's the aftermarket downpipe I installed hitting against the tie bars in the front, but I can't be too sure. The noise happens seemingly all the time at 2K whether I'm accelerating, decelerating in gear, or coasting.

I'm wondering if this could be anything serious that I should stop driving immediately because of. Sometime tomorrow I'm hoping to look under my car and see if the downpipe is hitting against something. It's just weird that it only happens at 2K. Any ideas?

Any other mods? If not that is probably the case, most aftermarket downpipes don't like the factory lower control arm braces.

Hey !!!! The same thing is happening on my 2006 MR BR330....It has a replacement full exhaust from Buschur. It feels like it is right under my seat as you said. when I look under the car and rev it with my hand in neutral i dont hear it...it seems like i only can hear it from inside the car too. But that sounds like exactly the same thing Im hearing! It sounds to me like the exhaust rattling against something, but i cant be sure. I was worried the exhaust was loose...let me know if you get this figured out!

looks like it is touching it...hmmm do you think thats bad? seems like when I make sharp left turns at low speed, as in when im maneuvering around a parking lot at like 5-10mph it rattles too.

When I put my hiflow cat in, the heatshield in the driveshaft tunnel would rattle and vibrate like crazy. The triangular shape of the factory keeps it pushed up against a little bump stop but, when I put HFC in that was different shape it would rattle and vibrate the whole floor at low rpms. I ended up just taking the heatshield out.

What's the best thing to use for spacers? Will a couple of stacket washers work?

The 2.5" downpipe we install on the BR packages do not require spacers. I'll answer your other questions in your PM.

Thumbs up

Oh and for the record...The car is fantastic...and the Buschur Guys were quick to answer my questions. I would recommend them 100%.
