I mean when you hit 100 you already knew you were breaking the law, and in most states their are certain requirements for someone (a cop in this case) to pull you over. For example, in Texas, a blue flashing light with siren behind you (at a minimum) is required to pull a car over. So if in a situation like your's, I'd have waited for them to do so. Of course, there are not many cars that could catch up to another car already going 165, let alone a cop car.
um... you have never seen a highway patrol interceptor car? they have warning stickers in them that say "DO NOT ROLL DOWN WINDOWS PAST 160MPH". you are not getting away from one of those by going in a straight line... and with a helicopter, your only chance is on foot.

wasn't there an article in scc or some other tuner mag that put 3 different style cop cars to the test (crown vic, impala and camaro i think)? except for the camaro the times and performace were total crap, and the camaro wasn't any better than a regular camaro.

point is - an evo would outrun one of these any day, even on a highway (unless that highway is something through nebraska and truly is perfectly straight for like 100 miles).

not that i'm advocating running, mind you. in fact i think this guy is a total idiot. there are risks, acceptable risks and foolish risks. guess which kind his was?

Pacing has it's flaws....there is a lot of info I could state but I would say to read this book -

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/096...lance&n=283155

A lot of good info and it sums it up if you want to defend yourself and what to do. If you want to get out of this, look for a good traffic attorney (usually other laywers know which ones are good), someone that specializes in these cases. I didn't read to find out if you said your laywer was or not.

And lastly, GOOD LUCK....

Heh sorry, I was referring to my offtopic-ness, not yours. I'll just send you a PM instead of cluttering this thread.

I live in AZ and i just reacently got pulled over on the 101 for doing "95mph" in a 65mph zone. I was actually doing about 65-70mph. The cop was a dick though, he radared some cars racing behind me and they booked so he just pulled me over instead. The cop wrote me a criminal speeding ticket and i went to court and the judge let me take traffic school for it.

If it was me i would have said F**k the cop and booked it. 165mph!!!

Most of the new cop cars in AZ are those modified crown vics, the marauder i believe. Those have the insides of a modded mustang GT with like a 50 gal. gas tank. so If you decided to run, you'd probably be screwed.

Here's another rocket scientist. Never heard of concepts like the Felony Murder Rule? Say a cop is killed while pursing you at 150 MPH+, do you think they'll slap you with a speeding ticket? Another reason that performance cars should be restricted to certain drivers who are capable of basic intelligence.

I'm not sure what it is in AZ, but WA they aren't allowed to pursue if it is over 150 (I believe this is it...may be lower *chime in here if you know*) and they are just to use radio and air support for that because the officer could get in a reck and kill others....costing the department more than they want.

Besides when he pasted the cop doing 165mph, for the cop to catch him he would have to go way over 165mph and for a few miles just to catch up. Of course if he slowed down then the cop has a greater chance....mainly why it is hard for a cop at a stand still to pursue most bikes out there when they are going that fast.

Just wanted to point out that you are the only person that posted on here out of more than 120 posts that felt the need to put me down.. I'm sorry if you life is so bad off that you cannot find anything better to do than to post just so you can put others down.. I think it is funny that you would use the word moron to describe me. The definition for moron is as follows: A person of mild mental retardation having a mental age of from 7 to 12 years and generally having communication and social skills enabling some degree of academic or vocational education. The reason I say I think this is funny is because I owned my own company by 17, by 19 it was the largest independently owned sales and marketing company in north america. I also completed a degree in electronic engeneering and later electronic warfare systems.. (all before the age of 21.)..

I will leave it at that as I do not want people to take this as a post where I am bosting.. You may say the choice I made was stupid.. I would most likely agree.. But saying that I am a moron is an extremely ignorant statement..
