rudebwoyt: Good to hear the dealer at least cut you a nice break on fixing the original motor. I would take them up on it for the reasons you already listed and also to avoid having to explain why the engine was replaced with a different one when you go to sell the car in the future.

SKILMATIC: While your posts in this thread were most entertaining, I am now dumber for having read them. You'd best sell your Evo before your engine blows up again too.

 

Well I left for vacation for 2 weeks to come to (AS I F**king expected) the car not being ready yet.
It took my mechanic 2 days to tear down the engine. But they cat acquire and new short block and repair the head in 2 weeks.
I'.ve now made 3 months worth of car payments and havent used the car in those 3 months.
My guess is the car sat "on the back-burner" because they knew I was out of town.

I'm really sick of dealerships.
Oh and to add insult to injury I'm betting they are gonna tack on some extra charges that were not in the original quote I signed off on..

Nope. I've done my share, had a '97 Cobra with the SQ Vortec running 10lbs through an aftercooler. The ringland gave way and I had it biult for about $5k. If you don't have the bank and ***** to play with these cars then leave them stock.

If I blow my Evo I'll post up, but not to cry about it. Just to talk about my choice of mods and selection of biulder etc.

The only thing hurting my Evo did to me was.... giving me the excuse to buy the Buschur 2.3 Like everyone says, "You gotta pay to play".
