I've worked at car dealerships for many years. Ask anyone on this forum that has or does work for one and they will tell you the same.

99.9% of the time the factory takes responsibilty for the all the labor and parts costs.
And what dealership do you work at?

I think you are the one who should read. The thread originator clearly posted he had an SAFC. Stock boost levels or not, an improperly used or installed SAFC alone can blow an engine.

We are actually more then one dealership. We have a Chrysler/Jeep store, a Mitsu and Suzuki store, and a Hyundai store. Where they are located makes no difference. Plus, I'm not a sponsor for the site so it could be frowned upon, as it might seem like a plug.

correct me if i'm wrong, which i probably am, but having the stock exhaust would create a lot more backpressure thus amplifying the effects of running to rich or lean?? i would just look at this experience as an opportune time to get a stroker... if you want to save money on gas get a beater or, if you had a proper tune, water injection and 87 octane is cheap and fun sounds like someone messed with your safc settings or something like that and you drove it unaware.

Well I am assuming this dealership is located in boston. However, how come everyone always says "I work at a dealership," but never exclaims which one? I could say I am the owner of a 3 mitsu dealerships and a honda dealership I wonder how many would beleive me? hahahaha

Oh well I guess I will go back to getting ready for a drivetrain overhaul in about 2000miles on my evo.

Running too rich or lean will have little effect on back pressure under stock boost pressure. Running too lean will raise EGTs and melt your pistons ....

What actually happened is the piston melted and warped the cylinder, and also some values in the head were damaged also.
They will not cover the short block and head that needs to be replaced, because they claim the car was overboosting.

Stock wastegate
Stock turbo
Stock intake
Stock exhaust.
SAFC II
Profec B set to 19psi high / 15psi low
reason for the profec B, low boost to save gas for daily driving.

The head of service actually said they would do the work a week ago, but the district manager happened to be in town and took a look, and denied the repairs under warranty.

My car is at the dealership with the engine torn down, and I have no clue what to do now.

Where do I go from here?
feel sorry for you man
