Old guys in EVOs

I just turned 30 and paid for the EVO and all the mods IN CASH!!! No credit card.
If the ideal apporach to affording mods is applying for a bunch of cards and charging up a storm and paying minimum payments is affording it. I'd rather drive a Yugo. one thing I hate is having overhead to think about everymonth and counting my dollars. I like to rest easy at night.
im 21, my bro is 23, and my dad is 44.. i have an 03 evo, my bro an 05 STI, and my dad a 05 GTO....im in the military so whenever i go overseas (like i am now) i leave my car at home so it can be garaged and he drives it sometimes to keep it "loose"... i just got an email from my dad that said he just traded in his GTO for an evo 9 because he hates his GTO... but he says its a blast to drive but just not for him so hes gonna keep it until the Shelby GT500 come out then trade it in on that.... im going to tell him to read this thread so maybe he'll keep it or maybe just buy both. I just thought it was a little weird for some one to not feel right when driving a car.
I wish there were more "old" evo owners. I have enjoyed the older evo owners i've met. Most have been trough legal racing (SCCA).
I find I have little in common with most "young" evo owners. I pay a mortgage, I've lived on my own for nearly ten years, I served time in the military...I'm a "grown up". I'm 26, but I'm not a punk kid.
I read about how all these 19-20 year-olds "afford" these evos (and thousands in mods)...I'm sure if you work hard enough you can make the payments, hell, I had a decent car at 19. But these kids are living off mommy and daddy and can't comprehend sending out a $2300/month mortgage check.

i've seen an old guy around 50's driving and s2k, i saw a video of an old man late 40's driving a skyline r34, professional drivers/test drivers (option video) are lod people, so i don't see any problem with it. i think it's cool
A neighbor of mine who is a radiologist has a 2005 RR Evo 8 MR and he is about 55-60 years old. He traded in a 03 RR GSR identical to mine (even same wheels but in bronze) to get the MR last year. Suprising to see a old guy who loves evos as much as i do and is on his second one!
What's good about being a 58 yr old EVO owner.
Cops thing your driving your kids car, because yours broke or something.
Insurance companies charge $1,100. a year for full coverages.
You can afford the play car and still have a new 2006 plush every day car.
What sucks..!
Knowing you got on average about 15 to 25 Yrs left to live...
I'm planning on sliding into home plate on my last day & yelling Wow what a ride.
Carry On,

i think it's awesome that some of the 'seasoned vets' drive an evo! there's this fella at my church that used to work for the ford plant and is now retired (he has to be at least 62 or so) and owns an 05 sti and a '00 civic si the electron pearl blue at that!
haha. i work for farmers insurance and this old lady.. probally in her 60's came in for a quote for car insurance. I asked what car she drove and she said "oh, it's a 2005 Subaru STI"... lol. I asked her how she likes it and she says "I like it, it's cute and has some 'toot' to it." haha.

to the elders!!!
