Do ALL mods void the Evo 8 warranty?

Hey guys. I heard something that did not make sense, and wanted to check and see what the deal was. I was told that ANY mods at all will void the warranty of the Evo entirely. Anything from an exhaust to a turbo timer. Is this true? It seems like a bunch of crap to me since if you hook up a turbo timer that HELPS the car. Anyway, what have you Evo owners heard? Thank you.

No it doesn't. This has been mentioned and explained far better than I can. Use the search feature and you'll find your answers.

yeah, all mods dont void your warranty...But is extremely explicit on what you can/cannot do to your car. Especially when it comes to the turbo and the engine. Normal aftermarket rules dont apply to the evo. Give it some time and i think will let off the gas a bit once they figure everything out.

You can swap the catback ... but messing with any of the O2 sensors could void the warranty ... basically, that means the catback only ... which I doubt will even add hp. Like OZevoVII said, give it some time ... and depending on your dealer ... the smoke will clear a bit. At any rate, bolt-ons and mods that can easily be taken off to swap back to stock if necessary is a good move.

Any warranty issues can basically be summed up by saying that if something goes wrong with a piece you've screwed with, then you're responsible for it. If you replace your exhaust and develop a problem with your door hinges, your warrant will cover the door. If you install a turbo timer though and it screws up your turbo somehow, then you're responsible. They won't warranty damage that comes from your aftermarket installations. It's the same for every car bought everywhere - the Evo doesn't have its own special laws.

Of course there aren't any special laws ... but just understand that could determine that one of the aftermarket parts led to the demise of another, etc. Example ... if an aftermarket ECU causes your engine to blow, then you would be responsible for all parts damaged as a result of the aftermarket ECU, etc. Then again, I've heard cases where the ENTIRE warranty was voided due to aftermarket mods ... so it's just a gamble that some of us will choose to take to get the most from out !
