Time attack @ midohio
I was looking through my modified magazine the other night and noticed that redline/modified/hawk is going to bring a time attack to mid ohio March 31st to April 2nd.
The classes are as follows
Street AWD
Street FWD
Street RWD
Modified AWD
Modified FWD
Modified RWD
Unlimited AWD
Unlimited FWD
Unlimited RWD
Friday is test and tune
Saturday is open track day and some Focus challenge/super focus shootout
then The redline time attack to see whos the king of mid ohio.
I probably wont be ready for the event this year, considering my GSX is a drag only car and I dont have an evo yet. I was just curious if any of you guys where considering this event? Mid ohio is one hell of a track, so come out there and put the smack down if you think you can be the king of OHIO!
http://www.redlinetimeattack.com/ for all the info.....
So who is going?!

I will be there in my 05 STi (street-AWD) on saturday and sunday, I cant wait for some fun times on the track (first event of the season!) I am not very modded - just some simple stuff and I really look forward to a great event!
the classes are pretty vague, well there are only 3 classes so each one there is a good amount you can do its not scca solo II, but then again I am considering this just a HPDE, if I drive well enough to place decent in my class, great but its nothing to go crazy over! Besides im driving my daily driver with some very moderate modding to it! And depending on how much experience people have on the track and considering its not a real race event driving skill will highly trump any car prep - granted it looked like the cali event had a lot of good drivers!
I'll be there in my modestly modded Evo in the Street AWD class as well. This will be my first competitive event, and I don't really know what to expect. It will also be my first track event in the Evo, and my first trip to Mid-Ohio. I look forward to meeting you and might have to follow some of your lines!

I'll be there on Sunday with my father-in-law, just to spectate and take a few pics. I have methanol installed in the car, so long extended boost periods are out of the question. Don't want the tank to run dry and sh&t to blow up!!!

I will be there Friday through Sunday. I was "asked/hired" to drive a Ford Focus in the Super Focus shootout at Saturdays event for Massive Speed Systems and will campaign my 05 EVO sponsored by HAWK brake pads and DBA rotors at Sundays event in the Street AWD class.
The rules are very "loose" to say the least and are primarily based on tire selection. Suspension and engine mods are almost unlimited. Tires will be the first thing to move the car into a different class. A roll cage will also move you into a different class.
Mid-Ohio was just repaved so for anyone that has run there before all of the referances in the track are gone.
Look for the black enclosed trailer with Motovicity Distribution on the side and say hi if you come down.
Doing a little car prep this past weekend:

Thats what I like to see: 50/50 corner weight

For you weekend track junkies, first time using this......I loved it, SPOT ON camber (from SPC.)

^ see ya there man, must be nice to have some sponsors
oh and it does suck that the repave has done away with the concrete patches, thus we loose good references, but oh well, I am glad to get a day and a half before the actual timing, however I am going for fun my goals will just to get better than my last lap time there (however not really exact timing
- it was from the instructor behind me that I had a lead on so he was not being real precise, well the time was a 1.50-1.51 (totally stock at the time, not like im modded MUCH now) time so I just hope I can beat that, the instructor (from official midohio school) got about a 1.47 something pretty easily, hopefully I can get under 1.50 !

As far as the sponsor thing, It helps being in the industry ....................
Just because it has a few stickers doesn't mean I can drive
I did guarantee them if I crash the car they will get some photos in the magazine

What tire is every one running on in the street class??????????
Winston, Those are definatly homemade about 30 minutes before the pictures. I actually used them to roll the car back onto (off the scales) so the scales can be reset if/as needed.
