Max boost read for stock Evo 9&9MR

What is max boost read for your stock evo? I hear that it suppose to be max at 1.5, but i try to step on the gas to ~5k and the highest boost i see is ~1.3. Is there anything wrong with it ?

I was thinking the same thing. Day before it hit 1.5 bar, infact it looked like it plain pegged 1.5. It was a little warmer today and never got past 1.3-1.4 bar. Boost still drops to around 1.0 bar though as rpms increase and loads decrease. I take it 1 bar is 15psi and 1.5 is 22 psi

When mine was stock I was peaking at 17psi. Pete at Works said he noticed that a number of stock 9s he tuned peak lower then stock 8s.

Boost changes with the Temp. If it's cold it tends to go up, if it's hot, it tends to go down...

Bone stock my Evo 9 was boosting 19PSI max rapidly droping to 16psi. The meassurement was done with a expensive Defi BF gauge and in Tucson at 3100 feet elevation.

Then I added a Greddy cat back and a Megan Racing Downpipe and boost went from 19psi to 22psi peak.

I took the car to the track last weekend and I was peaking 27psi(added CAI,MBC and flash) with some 101 race gas. I hope that helps.

Carlos

I peak between 17 and 18 psi stock. That is off a Stewert Warner boost gauge.

If you use a electronic boost controller, the boost will be steady.
