I live in CT. I need to go through emissions by Wednesday and I dont have a cat yet.. Anyone know where I can get a Cat from overnight??? I called some local performace places I buy parts from and nobody has one in stock.

Anyways, looking for a 3" high-flow cat..

No problem. I wish I could help you out, but I recently sold my hi flow cat to a fellow member on here.

Have you given any thought to posting in your regional forum & looking for a stock exhaust setup to toss on for the test?

Yeah, just snag a stock cat from an Evo owner in your area or from a local shop that does Evos like Pruven.

Unfortunately every time I've called Pruven, they have never once answered their phone. I left a message, and never recieved a call back. I totally reccommend Victor Research in the CT area over Pruven. But this is just my experience and an opinion; guys at VR are awesome though... Might ask them how long it would take to get one in.

Yo i know 3 people who have passed emissions without a cat =)!

two were turbo cars... i think turbo cars run cleaner than non turbo, so i there is a chance you will pass without a cat.

people i knew

97 Supra HKS Cams, Stock Twins... 3" Exhaust No-Cats(Tuned)
05 Evo 8 HKS Cams, 3" Exhaust No-Cats(Tuned)
97 ITR Stock Cams, 2.5 Exhaust 2 Resonators No-Cats(No Tune)

But i also have a buddy with a SRT4 who failed without a cat. depends on your tune but if you cant find one, there is hope :P remember its not my fualt if you fail, but just saying its "Possible" to pass without !

You may like VR, but that doesn't make them well-known, highly-regarded experts on the Evo.

I don't why you AGAIN mentioned something about getting a cat "in" as if you're going to order. Just use a stock one from somewhere local!!

I know this is true. Turbo cars are actually more emmissions friendly. I'm not trying to get a Mustang through emmissions, so this should be much easier lol...

Anyway, how does OBD-II emmissions work? Do they still use a sniffer? I have a test-pipe, but no CEL... I bought the car this way. I intend to put a Cat on it soon, but I can't afford it right this week really, unless I absolutely HAVE TO!

I would order, but would prefer to use stocker for now, if I could fine somone in the area to lend it to me.. Also, VR is pretty well-known in CT. They specialize in DSM's and work on Evo's. They teamed up with Bristol Dyno and have 1 of 3 (I believe) TWIN 248/248 DynoJet's in the country.

I'm not trying to say theyre top-known in the country or anything, just giving a little more info on who they are. Hopefully they will be more nationally heard within the next couple years. They do GREAT work and are GREAT guys.

I am not clear on your emissions in CT. If you just bought the car then it is not due for an emissions test (here in MA) It would be an OBDII sensor check to make sure there is no codes, as well as the lights to make sure if it's running.

If you do indeed need emissions, then I bought my 3" magnaflow high flow online and had it here in about 4 days. $80 shipped. Of course it's generic and I need to get flanges welded on etc. I'd offer up my stock cat, but I'm waiting for my DP to come in before I put it all together and don't want to try to separate my exhaust right now.
