Nothing comes out of filing to the BBB. They will notify the dealer of the complaint, and the dealer will have a chance to respond to the said accusation.

Whether they are found of wrong doing or not, it only gets noted in their system in case someone would choose to inquire on that said buisness.

But if they are found "guilty", or at wrong, you then have a complaint filed on your behalf and have at least some type of ammo to use in court if you choose to go that route.

Post the camera pics.

That sucks. I would find it hard to hold myself back from just walking into the service bay and beating the tech down. I do go to my dealer to get my oil changed. Every time I go they change the oil and check on the brakes, and drive shafts, fluid levels, etc. I sit there and wait while it is being done.

this is why i ALWAYS stand there to watch the dealership change my oil. i never sit inside to wait because who knows wtf the techs are doing to my car...

this is also why i NEVER let anybody drive my car. once i had to park at a very expensive hotel in Beverly Hills, and when i pulled up to the valet parking lot i asked the valet guys if i could just park my car myself. they pointed me to the lambo's/ferrari's/aston martins behind and told me not to worry about my car being driven by them. i just thanked the guy and left with my car. rather park a couple blocks down and walk back than to have some guy possibly **** with my car. at the end i got to park right in front of the hotel at one of the many loading zones cuz it turns out the doorman really likes Evo's

My gf and I jump out of her car and go into the service department and basically explain everything that happened. The service manager just keeps saying "yes I understand" and "ok, ok calm down." Then he tells me he will talk to the tech. He comes back and says the tech was driving it to "test the brakes." I told him I have photos on my camera phone of the tech driving it and the manager just shrugs it off. Finally after waiting another 15 minutes I get the car back with the oil supposedly changed free of charge. The whole thing was terrible and I am not sure if I can really do much about other than not go there anymore even though it is by far the closest Mitsu service center to me. Any thoughts, advice similar experiences???
***** of a tech probably never had a chance to own an EVO before, but anyway, my advice to you, take it or leave it is to learn how to do basic maintenance on your own.... I will never take my EVO to a delaership for service.....

I do everything that I can in my garage, and I have the tools, manuals, and know how for it. If there is something that is beyond my level of expertise, then I'll take it to a reputable EVO tuner/shop

Hey at least you caught the guy. Imagine if you didn't and continued to go there in the future. Ouch. How about finding the owner's personal info and calling him directly? Screw mitsubishi and the BBB. Talk to someone who actually has power. Believe me, if you got through heads would roll. No one cares more about a business than the person who benefits or suffers directly because of it.

I would contact Mitsubishi (the company) immediately and explain your situation and that you want it recorded on file that you made the complaint that your car was abused by a tech at the dealership.

The reason I say this is because a week from now you could be driving and your clutch could go bad, or your AWD could start making strange sounds, or......blah blah blah. Then Mitsubishi's going to blame you for the breakage.

A free oil change is not "compensation" IMO. I would request a drivetrain extension on the warranty because of it. Be reasonable, though. Maybe 7500 miles? I would most definitely NOT let this dealership get away with just giving you a free oil change. You paid a lot of money for that car.

I agree. If this dealership thinks they can get away with this behaviour, then they must be kidding themselves.

You must report this, this is bs.

Ok, I just read 5 pages worth of posting to wait to respond. First off, I am not taking sides, so you could be exaggerating your story, or the tech could be lying his *** off (which I doubt).

Let's start off with what you left out. Your car came in for a check engine light, a complaint of high speed brake pulsation, AND an oil change. So lets not make it sound like a "oh woe is me, someone beat on my car, and all I wanted was an oil change story".

Now, obviously I was not in the car, or following him, I can tell you right now, it is not this techs dream to be able to hop in an EVO like its a damn Vette or Ferrari. Hell, he doesn't even like the damn car. So its not like he had a hard on to go out and test drive yet another EVO with brake pulsation, and think hes going out there to do laps around Talladega.

Now let me ask you this. If you brought your car in, and told them you have a high speed pulsation, how the hell would you expect a technician to be able to duplicate your complaint...but to bring the car to a high speed. Now I'm not saying go drifting out onto Rt 1 and hit 120..but if your issue starts at lets say 50mph, how does anyone expect to find a pulsation doing 25mph, like you wanted him to.

Oh and the whole him talking to some guy in a truck, ya, but that was because the truck driver was just complimenting your car.

Now like I said originally, I'm not taking sides because obviously I did not see it with my own eyes, but I can assure you, that is not how things are done here. It's not like we have a bunch of out of school "techs" that get all gitty whenever a sports car comes in. As a matter of fact, the tech that did service your car has 20 years experience, and much like a chef never wants to come home and cook dinner, a tech with that much experience is not going to put his job on the line to go and drive someones sports car.

I felt the need to post this because the way this thread looks is like I said at the beginning, another woe is me story. Now I'm sure people will probably stay away now, or some people may say screw it, I'll give them a shot. I have met a few people on this board like Bret, the dude with the wingless black one (sorry man forgot your name..lol), and a couple others. And as I told them, I do work with discounts for Club DSM members, and EVOM members, blah blah blah..so needless to say at least a few people liked us, and I just hope that your half assed story does not influence their decision, or for anyone on heres matter, whether or not to deal with us.

In closing, if you LOVE your EVO so much, and its practically your kid, you might want to know, because you obviously didnt notice, that you have a nail in each of your back tires, that the tech would have taken car of for you if you hadn't decided to throw a hissy fit.

Thank you.

P.S. your oxygen sensor will be in tuesday

I guess I'm not understanding your post here. He's in Boston, and you're in Rhode Island. Aren't the two a few hours away from each other? From what it appears to me, he had his car serviced at a dealership that you work for.

I understand what you're saying in your post, but there's a difference between weaving in and out of traffic, riding asses, and all sorts of unnecessary behavior behind the wheel of his car. It's very easy to check a high-speed pulse in the brakes. You take it out on a highway to about 75 mph and you brake. This shouldn't be rocket science for these "experienced" techs. You don't go beating the Hell out of someone's car.

And FWIW, an Evo is a very exciting machine. No, it may not be a Corvette, but having been behind the wheel of both of them, they are each just as intoxicating as the other to drive. There's nothing that blows off stress from work better than taking a high-octane-smile-inducing romp in a high performance machine. Hell, if I have a bad day at work, I forget all about it once I hop behind the wheel of my STi and take it to the twisties, and then I come back from that drive on a serious "adrenaline high." Techs are no different. I doubt driving high performance cars gets boring, regardless how many times you drive whichever type of car you're behind the wheel of. Do you think Lamborghini techs get bored with taking "test drives?" I think not.

So whatever the case, it sounds like the tech is surely in the wrong. He put the vehicle at risk for being seriously damaged or destroyed. IMO it was very irresponsible and he deserves to be disciplined accordingly.

I will end this post with this. There are two sides to every story. Video doesn't lie, but with still photos it's a hard case to make.

Bravo!!!!

So that justifies flogging on someones car. I love it how you think that is a plausible reason for what anyone else can clearly see is abuse. I really hope this is not a joke...
