Man that is messed up, I work for a mitsu dealership and are techs never do that kind of BS.....call this number 1-800-648-7820 its mitsubishi's dispute resolution line they will get results for you. Wish you the best!

By no means would I ever say thats its ok to have someone beat the holy hell out of someones elses car. But as everyone is chiming in..how many of you were there? I already admitted I wasn't, so story could go either way. But at the same time, he shows me the pics, then ya, the tech is at wrong obviously.

Im just trying to clarify that it was not like so many other stories I have read on forums about dealerships doing this and that, or even trying to make the whole place look bad.

At this point I am really angry and ask for my car back and the service manager says "well it's up on the lift now you'll have to wait."
Finally after waiting another 15 minutes I get the car back with the oil supposedly changed free of charge. The whole thing was terrible and I am not sure if I can really do much about other than not go there anymore even though it is by far the closest Mitsu service center to me. Any thoughts, advice similar experiences???

Call the police. File Charges. Hire a Lawyer. File a lawsuit. Then the dealership will offer you some serious $$$ to make it all go away.

this is the reason if you take your car to the dealer you never leave it there and if they need to test drive it you ride with. Even when I get my oil changed under warranty I stand next to the tech while they are working so they know who's car they are working on. If you are cool with them they will treat your car with respect too

Sorry that happened to ya. Kind of the same thing happened to me when I first took my evo to the Mitsu dealership i bought it at. I pulled up in the parking lot with my wife and I saw this tech in my car haul *** around the corner and pull into the service dept. doing like 30 mph. I didnt keep my cool and unloaded on the service manager and I confronted the tech that had just gotten out of my car. You know what they said? "Sorry". So I call MitsuUSA, and do you know what they said? "Sorry". Bottom line, no one is going to care about your car more than you do. Dont waste your time calling and making a complaint. Just learn from this ****ty experience.

Man, some of you guys are wicked paranoid. Although I will not take my car to the local Mitsu dealership (I didn't buy the Evo there either) because I think they are crooks, I definbately don't have to stand next to the tech while he changes my oil. I have had an STi, a 477 rwhp Cobra and a 380 rwhp Lightning, and I have never nad a problem at any of the dealerships for bringing my car in, in fact all of the techs were cool as hell. I remember the subie tech marvelling over my Invidia Ti TBE and how awesome the welds were, they called me over just to tel me this, lol. I think too many people take these internet threads too seriously, especially the guys that are going to kill the tech just because he beat on the car for five minutes, which I am sure no one else has done. What happened sucks, but the dude got a free oil change out of it, which can't be too cheap with the Mobil 1 oil.

This is turning out to be a great thread though.

I think you really should take this up with the manager again. Ask him to show you where it says the brakes should be tested that way because NOWHERE IN THE MITSU TECHNICAL SERVICE BOOK DOES IT SAY YOU CHECK THE ROTOR BY DRIVING THE FUGGING CAR.

In fact, for a 'warped' rotor, the TSB recommends sticking a dial gauge on the rotor and rotate the rotor to check for eveness of the surface. Not "take the customer's car for a quick spin around the block, drive it like a buttface and pretend nothing happened".

There are many, many ways to check the brakes. Many of these ways are correct and a great number of them do not endangering the public and risk buggerring up your car.

Having said that, I do know guys who actually pawned a customer's car. They're in prison now, but it was really rather funny at the time.

Can you throw one of the data loggers that you can pick up a autozone in your car that way you have some #s to prove what is done to you car when you drop it off. I think those things are like $100. But I think that it is cheap insurance if you have to take you car to a place like that.

^ Good point!!!!

All they have to do is take off the wheels and look at the brakes and know if they good or bad.

Wow, go back to the dealer and complain. What the hell you waiting for? lol

The only time my car ever goes to the dealer is for a recall. After I get it back, I go over whatever they checked/replaced.

Damn straight!!! This is why I NEVER let my Evo out of my sight for an instant. I'm sure I **** of the guys that change my oil because I watch them like hawks. I'm sorry to hear about this. I'm generally a soft-spoken guy but this would have pushed me over the edge.
