reflash symptoms

i was wondering how my car would react if it needs to be reflashed? i have an exhaust and a intake on the car and it bogs out every onvce and a while after coming out of first gear coming to a stop, does not do it all the time but there is the occastion that it does.

would a reflash help the check engine light to stay turned off with a catless exhaust or would i also need to buy an 02 simulator?

Ah - it will be faster.

You need a flash to cover the intake, that bogging is from the intake, you are confusing your MAF.

No 02 simulator needed. Go to the how-to section and find the mechanical 02 fix.

02 sim and reflash would help with your intake. Shouldn't buy an intake without a reflash unless it's the Buscher kit. Other than that, stick to drop in filters. Works makes an excellent drop in filter.

Bring it to AMS. The car should be noticeably faster after a flash.

+1 on getting rid of the intake. A good drop-in filter is the way to go until you start to make ludicrous amounts of power.

Incorrect, many here - including myself, have found more power with an intake once tuned.

Why tuned intakes are good -

well i called ams and they are backed up and they are also charging 500 for a flash so im thinkin mayb someone else in the area can flash for cheaper? or has anyone flashed their car by them selves like buying the cord and downloading the softwear onto a computer and tuning it, if so could i get the numbers and know how to get it done?

i was also wondering if i even had to buy the plug, my friend has a obd2 plug that might fit on my car so if it fits is it all right for me to use it or should i get a evo plug befor i frie somthing?

OBDII is universal. You can tune yourself if you want.OBD II Cable(Tactrix,89),EVOlog Software(15) and ECUFlash software(Free) and you can tune yourself.

You would also need a wideband AF.

Id get a baseline mail-in flash for TBE, MBC, intake.

What are your uses for this car? If you just drive it, that mail-in should be enough. If you drag/road race. Then get the cables and software and fine tune it from there.

I'f you're running stock turbo and injectors, just buy an EcuFlash cable and do an Eflash.
