MBC/EVC tuning and MR

question, i know the way to tune your mbc/evc is to do pulls in 3rd gear and see what the boost is at, but is it different for the MR's because of the 6 speed?

will the 6 speed see full boost in 3rd or 4th gear?

Most shops around here do 3rd gear for 5MT and 4rd gear pull for 6MT.

im tuned for 28 psi, and i dont hit it until 4th....when i was tuned, they were hitting 28 psi in 3rd, and i havent touched the evc (hks evc 5)

i dont have a boost leak (tested) and the bov isnt leaking...im kinda at a loss as to whats going on

i called Chris from AMS and he was also at a loss (thanks for answering all my questions, Chris )

It's the same. It runs off of wastegate during learning mode... Which is around 12-13 PSI. You adjust it from there to your needs. On my EVC 4 I get .84 kg/cm2 off of the wastegate. Low boost setting to 1.00, high boost setting to 1.4. Scramble to .3 over current boost setting.

like i said, i dont know what happened, my car is not daily driven, and for some reason, the MAX i hit in 3rd gear at wot is 24 psi, and in 4th ill hit the 27 - 28...

Possibly hooked up wrong? I was talking to another board member who had the same problem. I think he reused the stock T off of the wastegate and vacuum nipple on the turbo. I replaced both of these lines and they go straight to my EVC 4 boost solenoid.

i doubt its hooked up wrong, like i said, it was hitting the 28psi when they were road tuning the car in 3rd...

i have it set up the same way, one line from the wastegate to the evc solenoid, one line from the turbo outlet nipple to the solenoid, and the third line is the boost source...

i have the line to the evc thats reading boost teed off the stock mr guage location for boost, off the fpr solenoid...tomorrow i am going to move the line thats reading boost from the fpr solenoid to the tee off the bov and see if it reads any different...

To answer your question I see full boost in 3rd and 4th gears on my MR.
