pop the back of the axle out of the tranny just a little bit, then spray some lube, wait a few minutes, then a few good taps with hammer. might also want to loosen the 4 hub bolts so it has more play. hope that helps.

you dont have to remove the tie rods. You can simply undo the front strut and it will allow the brake rotor/hub ***'y to drop down and the axle should slide right out. Getting it out of the hub should be the easiest part.

there are different ways to approach the same problem. I removed the strut and the hub came off the axle w/o having to undo all the tie-rods. These were taken 5 minutes ago as I am in the middle of my rebuild.

Passenger side..note the two holes for the strut and the zip tiees holding the hub up so it does lay completly flat.

Note how the tie rods are still intact and the suspension removed.

i think he's having issues removing the axle from the hub not the shaft............. simply back the king nut out a tad and wack it with a hammer!

Usually a dead blow hammer will be sufficient if you give yourself enough room to physically allow the hub to slide off of the axle. Sometimes they will feel like they've seized into the hub, but patience and liberal applications of PB Blaster or the like will usually solve the problem.

I routinely coat the axle and inside of the hub splines with antiseize when reassembling.
