Lo jack/ECU question

just wondering if anybody that ACTUALLY HAD Lo Jack installed in their car by the dealer where they bought their car can let me know if there is any reason why the dealer would have to connect to the ecu? i just had my car tuned a week ago but now i have to go in next week to get the lo jack installed and i just want to make sure that it wont be a problem, i dont want them to know i was tuned or to have them erase the tune.

thanks in advance

ps. I searched

I had LoJack installed before I had the car tuned. I don't think there would be a problem, though.

I had LJ Advanced Warning installed at the dealer before i took delivery of it. I wish i could help but i dont know for sure. If i had to guess i would say that LJ needs to gather some kind of info from the ECO to work correctly.

a lo jack guy comes to the dealership to install/hide a tracking device in your car, the mitsubishi techs wont touch your car if thats just what your doing.

Did the dealer tell you that they need to connect to the ECU? Like EvolvinEvo said, a special Lojack tech does the install, not a Mitsubishi tech. I don't think a dealer mechanic is even allowed to watch the install.

you guys were right

yea i just called a mitsu dealer (not the one i bought the car from, just a random one) and asked if the lo jack system was installed by their techs or if by someone from lo jack, the service tech told me that it was done by a lo jack tech and no one outside of lo jack is allowed to know what was done to the car. in that case i should have no problems
i realize this is exactly what i was told by a couple of ou guys but i figured i would post what i was told by the mitsu dealer
thanks

What's the going rate for Lo-Jack for our cars? It was 500 for my motorcycle.
