I have had a weird sound comming from the front of my evo when i let off the gas. Its a loud whining sound. And it is not my Exedy clutch sound i am talking about because u can hear that also. It is different then the clutch sound its more of a whine then a rattle whine and whn i push the clutch in it goes away??? Please help me!!

 

oh an it is when i am slowing down in like first gear and when i stop at the light and go to put my car in gear with the clutch pushed in while i am slowly rolling like 5 mph it whines before i goes into gear??

 

That is a common sound that about 90% of evo make after a couple thousand miles 15+.mitsu said it was the release bearing or counter shaft bearing the noise goes away for a short time when replaced but ultimately comes back the pull type clutch is a loud clutch by nature since the bearings in the release are always riding unlike the push type

 

So is it sumthin i should be worried about or just get used to it like all the other sounds the evo has to offer..lol

 

mine has been making the skateboard wheel noise for a long time and no problems so far

 

ok well i plan on getting the tran rebuilt by sheptrans cuz i would rather be safe then sorry. its alt better then spending thousands on new trans. thanks alot man
