HELP! Buying questions...?
I'm a newb to the site and am hoping to buy a new Evo IX within the next week or two. I've had two previous DSMs, a stock 1990 Talon TSi, and a modded 1991 Galant VR4 (see sig for mods and pics). I am planning on storing my current car for the winter (it's not so good in the snow
) and I want something AWD, that's going to be fun to drive both in the winter, and the nice weather as a daily driver.
I also had a modded 2003 WRX (332 WHP) previous to my current car, so I had considered an STi. But I just like the looks/ overall package of the Evo slightly more, and always loved them in white.
So I am settled on a Wicked White Evo IX without the SSL package.
My question is, what is lowest realistic price to expect on this car in CT...? When I bought my '03 WRX, MSRP was around $25,500, and I got the car for $22,400 after some mild negotiations. The MSRP on the car I'm looking for is around $31,300, but it is really an impulse buy, so I want to get the car for the best possible price. Is < $28k possible...? If not, what is? Is there anyone in CT who has recently picked up a IX with any input...?
Thanks,
-Tom

if its at a dealer i dont see you finding 28k very easily. Depending on the miles i can see you getting 29 though def. I have seen a few for 29k im my area used. but of course thats the starting price so negotiations could help things lower.
I know that South Coast Mitsubishi sells that car for $28,599.00 with he destination charge. They are a huge dealer so it may be hard to get that price at your local dealer. But you can use it as a negotiating tool. Good luck
I don't think a dealer will touch that. My dealer came very very close to south coast. I showed them there prices and gave a little bs story about shipping was free but they deserve a little bs back for all they give.

So what did you end up paying vs. what South Coast was charging?

Tom's "current car" is def. out of the question for winter driving.... By comparison the evo is slow....but throwing out speed all together the evo is probably the most fun car I've ever had the pleasure of driving.
I've told you in person...but just to reiterate, contact East Providence Mitsubishi and Yonkers Mitsubishi. I'll give you the number for Joe at Yonkers tomorrow.
yea.. i 700 twin turbo c6 corvette isnt going to work well in the winter.. haha.. sexy car.. sexy power.. get the evo.. its worth your buy..especially if money isnt an object. who knows. spend some money on the evo modding and give your corvette a run for its money
Well, I ended up buying a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 Grand Touring demo for $25,900 the other day. Seems that Mitsu dealers don't feel like discounting their product, so no Evo for me.
I put $10k down and financed for 60 months at 6.0% for a nice, comfortable $348/mo. payment.
I think this car is more suited for what I am looking for anyway in a daily driver. It's more comfortable, quiet, and less likely to start heavily modding.

Thanks Mitsubishi!
