A bone stock C6Z just went 10.85 at 130 with just DR's on.

In most cases, evo's are useful form 5k up to around 7k and at least that means more gear changes (interruptions in the power delivery) and generally lower top speed.

As I said, it's not impossible but IMO 15k is a lot of money to put into a 30k car. Granted, it's not 70k like for the Z but at the end of the day in most cases at such performance levels things are not going to last very long, simply they're not designed to take that sort of power.
Actually on the pump map thats 360tq starting at 3800rpm due to the stroker. However, it doesnt matter if its at 2k bro cause what evo drives at 2k? I dunno of any. Even when I am going slow and being mild on the car I am usualy around the 3k area. And when you race no matter what cr you are in you never see 2k anyway so that has no bearing whatsoever on this comparison.

15K is alot of money? And you think 70k isnt? I just told you it would be more cost effective to just get an evo. There is a local guy here who had a 35r setup making over 500whp on the stock block and he had it for over 30000miles and over a yr and a half then he went with a 40r making over 840whp on a built bottom end. He hasnt had one problem.

Also smogrunner(who also has a 35r setup) runs high 10's as well and his car and setup costed about 45grand. So again he saved 25grand.

It still is an Evo and I don't care how much money you throw at it. Like I said before apples to oranges.

I have about the same $$ into my Evo+built as my new Z06 will cost.

That said. Could I beat a Z in a 1/4 mile. ON JUST PUMP 474whp I would like to see. It would be an interesting race. On pump/meth about 590whp yes for sure. On C16 710whp it would not even be close.

But I would take the Z any day over my Evo for everyday driving. Plus 100k warranty and if I tried to sell my Evo I would be lucky to get 40k to 45k = 30-35k loss.

Z's are selling on the west coast over sticker as much as 20k.

Both great cars though.

Ha, ha. BONE STOCK + DR's. That's awesome.

Next it will be BONE STOCK +DR's + drop in filter + open headers + stripped interior + remotely controlled + + + + + + +

Anyway, the Evo even being compared to the Z06 is a testament to its design. At least it has a recipe or mod path that is conceviably possible. But its still ricer math/logic and bench racing though.

I don't get the sarcasm. The car is BONE STOCK with different tires. I still consider any car in the world with different tires bone stock. No need to be tight-wadded about it. What will a bone stock Evo run with DR's?

As far as comparing the Evo to a Z06, it's no different than comparing anything else to it... You could have a Geo Metro with $30k into it and dust an Enzo, is that a testament to the Geo's design...? Who ever has the deepest pockets wins.

I keep hearing stock z pull out high 10's in the 1/4 well I am simply not seeing anything remotely close to those times. I just went out to fontana a couple weeks back and saw a stock z run and it was running mid-low 12's. Basicaly what I would run on a few bolt ons. So I just dont see every stock z cutting those times.

Its the same with every car actually. Not every evo will run the same time even though they are identical. However, I do beleive lot of it has to do with the driver.

unless you're running deep into the 10's, you won't stand a chance against a C6-ZO6....

+1 On that... With 30K you would get a GT42r kit, fully built motor w/ stroker kit, sheppard transmission with a dog box, 4.11 FD (allowing you to go up to ~200mph), and all the other engine and transmission bells and whistles... That should give you about a 800-900whp daily driver on alky or race gas...

Hell you could get 800-900whp on a 40r. A 42r woudl give you over 1000whp. But I agree with you on the general statement.
