So a current NASA TT license is sufficient for driving experience to run in the Time Attack? Looks like the classes are coming together pretty well; hopefully the dates work out for me so i can make the trip out there.

Spring Mountain Sept 22-23rd ----My Vote goes here.

Charles

I dont see it fair to have cars like the GSC EVO, AMS TT, ROBI's Car or god knows who else will show up. in the same class as say a DD car running a bigger Turbo. these cars need to be seperated. i think they should be unlimited. the CyberEVO and the XS Car, if they are out there they should be in the same class. I know the HKS car is pushing the limits of the class with all the carbon and so is the COBB car. the Cyber evo and XS car for what i have seen are as much an unlimited car as ours. the COBB and HKS Car is a whole nother beast. with the carbon body on the HKS Car, and larger motor in the COBB car along with the carbon. I say run a Minimum Weight limit in the Unlimited class of say 2500lbs

Some good points greg. We could run the three class and allow those two cars to run exibition.

A NASA TT license or any other competition license is perfect

How about this? I could also take out the wide body for modified class

Safety Rules - same as NASA TT. Check www.nasa-tt.com

Street
• Vehicle must be currently registered for street use
• Must have DOT approved street tires with a tread wear of 140 or greater
• Externally Stock turbos w/ internal wastegate
• No alcohol, water, meth, nitrous or any other kind of power aiding injection
• 255 max tire width
• No suspension geometry modifications. Exceptions are camber adjustment (modifications allowed i.e. camber plates, bolts, rear lateral links (subarus), bompsteer kits, and ALK (subaru).
• Coilovers are allowed up to 2 way adjustable dampening.
• Vehicles must have all original glass. Lexan windows not permitted
• Must have full exhaust with muffler. Cutouts will remain closed
• Maximum weight reduction of 100lbs or less (documented with list of reductions)
• Must retain full interior. May use aftermarket steering wheels and race seats if total vehicle weight reduction stays within 100lbs
• Use of non OEM doors/roof is not permitted
• Stock width fenders only
• Must run unleaded gas. No use of leaded race gas for the street class
• OEM brake calipers
• AWD only

Modified
• Must have DOT approved tires with a tread wear of 100 or greater
• 275 max tire width
• Vehicles must have all original glass. Lexan windows not permitted
• Must have full exhaust with muffler.
• No nitrous
• No alterations of suspension geometry. Exceptions are bump steer kits and ALKs on Subarus
• Maximum weight reduction of 200lbs or less (documented with list of reductions)
• Must retain partial interior. Interior behind the driver seat may be “gutted”. Seats and steering wheels may be replaced with aftermarket units.
• Use of non OEM doors/roof is not permitted
• Must run unleaded gas. No use of leaded race gas for the street class
• Aftermarket wings, front splitters, diffusers, and wide body modifications allowed
• AWD only
• GTRs are limited to 2.6L

Unlimited

• Any DOT tire or equivalent from country of origin
• Full Unibody, 2500lb minimum wieght. No use of ballast to meet restriction
• AWD only

Exhibition Class - Anything goes. No cash purse, award only

Assuming Nitto is still on board, which I think they are, there will also still be the Spec NT-01 Prize for the fastest car runing NT-01 tires. You will have to be in one the the first to classes to be eligible for this.

I am going to have to change that roll cage rule in unlimited. I put that there when it was all out cars runing full slicks and crazy power. Basically now, if you car is legal for NASA TT safety wise, its legal for us. So for all tech and safety rules, check www.NASA-TT.com

car is 2750 w/o driver.. i say get rid of the "No use of ballast to meet restriction" i think a min weight is good if you want equal cars and some good competition.

I was trying to avoid certain 2200lb cars from backing their way into that class by adding ballast

How about limiting Street class even further with the following:
Must have stock engine, must keep internals stock
Must use street tires with a tread rating of 140 or above, No R-comps allowed
Must use stock turbos
Must use pump gas, max of 94 oct
Must have a cat/HFC

Thoughts?
I would love to be able to attend this even if it is just to watch ...

The stock internals isnt bad, but I think i may just limit it to stock compression/displacement.

I put the 100 tread wear tires because we want as many people as possible to run Nitto NT-01 tires for the spec nt-01 challenge. Other wise the 140 street tire is the way we would have gone.

Stock turbo is hard because it very difficult to verify, so we just say externally stock

Pump gas is also hard to verify, hoever it is easy to tell if its leaded

Most people do not have cats, so that would take out a lot of people

I really want to participate however Im setting my car up for the Redline (Street Class) Time Attack series and the 255 width is killing me. I will be running Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R and they are 265/35/18. Also the two way adjustable damping is way to low ... who runs two way coilovers ... all the basic coilovers that most people buy like the Tein and such are way over two way adjustable. My coliovers are 4 way and that super low.
