Adjusting MBC?

I'm getting ready to install my MBC and was wondering if the weather matters when I measure the boost? It's cooler at night when I have time to do the work (low-mid 60s). Do I need to wait to adjust it during the day?

Should'nt make much of a difference setting it up. If it does vary a little adjust if nescesary. Start low and turn it up gadually.

It doesn't matter when you install it. Just get it set to where you want it, and then always keep an eye on the boost. Adjust it accordingly - it's not rocket science.

thanks for the replies...i figured that the ECU changed the boost according to the weather. I guess since im bypassing the wastegate actuator that doesnt matter.

From what i have done and seen done you can run 21/22 psi without a flash. Obviously a flash would be a better way to go to get more power when turning up the boost a little. Then again it would be a good idea to a a filter and exhaust before you try to cram more CFM "volume" thru the stock exhaust. Because you will be creating more heat and working your turbo and engine harder.

Also another note: At that point i suggest getting a walbro 255 lph pump too.

So how much hp does one psi add to a stock system? All is stock (other than mbc) and the exhaust is in the works, so dont lecture me.

There is no exact answer, but the general rule of thumb is 1ps=10whp. However, that is moreso for a modded car than a stock car, and this is only while the turbo is in its efficiency range, though. We don't have spreadsheets and matrices that we can refer to for knowing how much power 1psi adds for every possible setup. You shouldn't be worried about how much power it adds when stock - you're not staying stock for long.
