Yes, you guys should NEVER valet your car. I was a valet for 4 years mostly during college and met hundreds of valets during those years. Let me just say 95% of them would make the scene in ferris bueller look tame.

Yeah get that police report, have insurance pay for all the damages, then choke him.

Sorry to hear that. Saturday I pulled into a very expensive restaurant and dropped off my girl. 4 kids (valet) came up and said all at once "I'll park that" My response was "no one drives my car" The one kid replies "lets see whats under the hood" I laugh and say "no"

I knew that something like this would have happened, thats why I hate valet.

If it were me, someone would have been in the hospital

Wish u the best of luck!

that sucks. good luck with everything, but I thought that to total a vehicle, the repairs had to be like 60-70% of the value of the vehicle..?(pics please) but, yeah, just take their a$$es to the cleaners for as much as you can get. seriously, hope it all works out.

If he lives in a no fault state then it won't matter. And even if he doesn't live in a no fault state he should still at least consider claiming against his own insurance company - what will happen is that they'll pay out the claim to him and then subrogate the claim to the valet's insurance. Let your insurance company's lawyers work for you, it's like getting free legal counsel. If you hire your own lawyer it will cost you a lot and I can tell you that an insurance company's lawyers are paid to be very aggressive. Why not borrow someone else's pitbulls for free instead of renting your own less vicious pitbull?

I know a lot of people are saying, "Duh, you should never valet your car." But in jjm4life's defense, in the area he went to in Philly, there really is simply no place to park. You pretty much have to valet your car if you drove into that section of town to for a nice dinner out.

Anytime I go into the city for a night out, I always take my $2000 beater car into town and/or park it myself in a safe area and then get a cab over to the part of town I want to go to.

I would make them buy you a new car just becasue your car value is going to drop like no other. And have all parts paid for. Then you just get a evo 9

You better not take this lightly you better sew the hell out of them. They have insurance if something like this happen.

little update:

car got flatbedded to faulkner mitsu, i was not there to see it get dropped off, but i was in touch with the guy in charge over there and he says it isnt totalled. he did say the rear end is way out of whack because the wheel is turned in and pushed towards the rear.

the pictures we took didnt really come out great, they actually down play the damage in my opinion so they really arent worth posting. i am going to the dealer tomorrow and i will try to get some pics then.

my insurance company is sending in their own adjuster before we allow them to touch the car. i am getting a new clutch out of this as it was discussed with the dealer already. hopefully i can get a better aftermarket one instead of an oem replacment. something tells me the aftermarket will be cheaper but his insurance might not cover it.

i got rid of the awful h3 they gave me that night, and now im driving a dodge charger (no not the hemi) so at least i get my satelite radio back, i was going through withdrawl.

besides that thanks for all the tips and well wishes. i apreciate it

Dam that sucks that is why I never trust them *****es and never take my car to the club or valet it if I do take it. Even when I leave my car at the body shop, I upload a 2500 revlimit rom in the ecu. Some Bs.

call the owner of the valet service if they can replace the car with a new one or else you're going to sue him and his company and return his H3 ASAP. that is why when I have my car serviced, I tell them outright, no test drives, period.

Because just about every insurance company I know of will use any excuse they can to raise your rates. If you file against their company the get their rates raised and if i9t comes down to it you could probably get any of of your potential legal bills covered in the settlement.

crap!

I agree with HotRod.

That's why no matter how lazy I am, I will never...ever let a valet touch my car. I'll drive around until I find parking or find a lot I can just park in then walk it in.

Hope it all works out for you.
