When you purchase parts from companies like AMS, Buschur ect... Your not only getting parts, you're getting customar support.

Its like purchasing a TV or home audio system from a specialty home/car audio store as opposed to Wall-Mart.
First: The specialty store will most likely carry the high end stuff (wall mart doesn't) (Yes, there is a difference).
Second: If you have a problem, do think an employee from Wall-Mart is going to stop by your house after store hours to help you trouble shoot a problem or show you how you use some cool features.

HELL NO!

This is what you pay for, Good Customer Service!
That is correct. That is where your money is going. It is well worth it in my opinion.
BUT some unfortunately can't afford some of the vendors products.
Saying that the chinese made stuff will not work well is horsecrap. But that doesn't mean ALL the chinese made products are good, just like some USDM is crap as well.

I guess the thread is open again. I think we need a Sticky for a supermerged ebay FMIC thread

I don't understand why everyone gets so worked up about the ebay FMIC when the O2 housings are so accepted? It's the same issue.

There will always be copies on the market of every good product, but American business succeeds through innovation, not through blind customer loyalty or a "buy American" mentality. The exception might be the American auto manufacturing industry, but look where that got us.

I think ebay is actually a catalyst for the entrepreneurs out there to keep on the cutting edge and continue to develop new and better products, rather than resting on their laurels and just churning out the same old product. It's economics at work.

I reopened the thread in faith that members would use rational thought and reasoning instead of the China vs. U.S. stance.

The O2 housing isn't a direct knock off and not made to look like an existing product. It also makes power. The FMIC LOOKS identical to the AMS offering.

The ebay O2 looks very similar to the DNP O2 housing, which sells for $299. The ebay FMIC has the same end tank shape as the AMS, but different brackets, different core design, etc. As far as making power, there are some very strong cars on here with the ebay FMIC.

installed my AMS copy intercooler and ebay pipes today..

good for you, but you had to make a thread showing off, your ams copy, grow the hell up.. maybe if you named the thread differently, people wouldnt be *****ing in here, but you need the attention.. amazing..

something thats even better, almost every thread you made is asking for help, so how do repay the community, make a thread with a trouble starting topic name..

can wait to see what else you offer evom.

they look similar but no where near identical. identical implies that you can't tell them apart. anyone who's looking to by an AMS IC is not going to be mistaking by the Ebay IC.

AMS has welded sheet aluminum end tanks, inlet and outlet pipes ark down, top bracket is welded on and "AMS" painted on the front of it. The Ebay IC have cast end tanks, inlet and outlet pipes come straight out and all the brackets are bolted on. if the Ebay IC had rectangular end tanks, no one would accuse them of copying AMS and the performance wouldn't be any difference.
