Thanks guys.

My documentation is over 20 pages of writing/explinations/time lines, 100 photographs, 4 different oil analysis charts (results pending), 15 other attachments, etc. It all has to be in for the 29th, and the party starts on April 3rd.

Good luck to ya, I gets tiring hearing of all these denied warranties on evo's, because its an evo. Seems it is cheaper for mitsu to just deny a warranty and have say 1 in 1000 customers fight it and go through arbitration because they are betting most wont wanna deal with the hassle.

Yeah man. Good luck. The burden of proof is on them, and they didn't even look in to the cause, so at least that is going for you.

Let us know how it goes.

I remember reading about your incident some time ago... spun rod bearing, with block penetration if I recall. What mods were left on the car, that the dealership decided to base their warranty voiding on?

Intake, exhaust, boost controller, basic ecu tuning. Sketchy for warranty work, that I realize. BUT, burden of proof is on Mitsubishi as outlined by Congress, and there should be no reason that those modifications when used properly would cause a motor to destruct at 15,000 miles.

In this case Mitsubishi would have to prove that any mods on the car actually led to the motor to spin a rod bearing. If you put on an exhaust and your radiator leaks, its not your fault. Im sure many of you know this whole deal and sh*t, But thats ridiculous, If they won't warranty their own products then we shouldnt be paying 30k+ for these cars.

Check this link out, If you havent seen this or anyone else yet it might be a bit of help for you or anyone else on this forum.

Btw, I think Mitsu is really gay for checkin forums about customers mods IMO...

Good luck to all,

Wow, when I opened this thread I somehow knew exactly who the OP would be. I read your story last year Stew and I'm at a loss for words. I really hope you win and that Mitsu fixes your car like they should have many, many (did I mention many?) months ago. Let us know how it turns out.

Good luck to all,

this is useless.... i keep seeing this everytime for warranty work...

it doesn't do anything, and no one has ever won anything using it... scare tactics dont work.

mitsu already has a bad reputation they have nothign to lose...

i dont see why you didnt put it back to stock before you took it to the dealer...

that may have helped with the warranty process, or give you a very good fighting chance if they denied...

--- i had a worse experience when my car was stock and my tranny was grinding from day one, but i was too excited to take it back for a 5th gear grind until 5k. only 3 months later...

they told me.... "JUDGING FROM YOUR TIRE WEAR YOU DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY, NO WARRANTY!"

i had 65% tire wear, they said that was abnormally fast lol i got 15k out of my stock tires, how many peopel got more than that lol not many.

i agree, they can simply state the ecu map was modified and it was not the original one. See actually all manufacturers are like this everybody thinks mitsu is the only one but actually subaru, bmw etc. are just as bad believe it or not. It's probaly cheaper if you rebuilt your engine with forged pistons & rods..... and if the warrenty means this much to you KEEP IT STOCK!!!

If Mitsubishi wants to void our warranties then they should refund the purchase price of the warranty. Oh, wait... that would be way to much lost profit. Much more money in it to just deny claims

Best of luck with your arbritration.
