should i install springs and retainers

Hey guys im at work and am not supposed to use the computers so if i leave something out im sorry. Anyway i have BC 272 cams with springs and retainers that i got for a good deal from a member on evom. My question is should i get the springs and retainers installed with the cams. my mods are downpipe, cat delete, cat back, intercooler, mbc, intake, walbro. Is it worth it to have them installed, i mean is the only benefit that i could rev to about 9? I hear that the stock valve train i fine with the cams but what are the benefits of spending the extra cash to have them installed.

Stock Springs Retainers are OK with set of 272s under 8000 RPM, but some people push it farther, I would recommend Changing them Anyways if you want to have some safety, but not an Abosolute MUST but a good idea. Also try searching when you have some time.

Beats going into the head again and doing them later. might as well get everything done in one shot.

I have the BC 280's with springs and retainers. I had the cams installed with out the springs and it didnt run right. Retainers came in and install the springs, I could tell immediatly a large difference in the way it ran. I love it.

Thanks for the imput. The only thing that was holding me back was the extra money it will cost me because I don't have the skill to do it myself. But I will definetly have to go for it.

you dont want to rev to 9k with the stock rods and/or rod bolts... I would put them in regardless because you will probably be able to tell a difference...
