Is this clutch chatter

So I just installed an exedy twin and I hear some new noises. I am not sure if this is the clutch chatter that I have read about as it seems a bit different.

When the car is is just idling it sounds fine, then when I push the clutch in I hear a rattle. When I let the clutch out the rattle goes away. Is this chatter? Is it something else?

Thanks

I do not have a twin disk, but I've heard a few of them and it's probably what you're experiencing. I wouldn't worry about it. Someone who has one will chime in eventually.

Welcome to the world of clutch chatter with multiple a multiple disc clutch. Perfectly normal. Just put the radio on. The sound will go away.

The noise DOES NOT go away when I push the clutch in, it is the opposite. I know that noise is normal with a twin disc. However, I am not sure if what I am experiencing is normal.

Again I only hear a rattle when I push the clutch in. When the clutch is out there is no rattle. Is this normal??

this is chatter

when the clutch is pushed the plates chatter

now if you had chatter when it wasn't pushed in then that would most likely be a bad throwout bearing I believe

clutch in = chatter okay
clutch out = chatter must likely an issue

I thought clutch chatter is when you are accelerating from a stop and the car chatters (bucks). What you're are hearing is the TOB.

Clutch chatter occurs when the clutch cone engages and disengages the case in rapid succession.

^that's what i grabbed from a google link clutch chatter

What I meant by bucking is when you engage and the clutch basically causes the whole car to chatter as you accelerate.
