Starting to get upset with the evo..
What part or BR telling you to do ALL of your other mods before a big turbo did you miss? Why for gods sake do you guys keep doing a big turbo without ALL of the supporting mods? Lots of us have gone 11's on the stock turbo...make the car work with basic boltons then do the turbo. What clutch do you have? Nevermind...
I aint reading through all this crap... I dunno if it was said yet but, you prolly have a BOOST LEAK, that was my first guess. 2nd...., I have a strong 35r for my stock TB, intake manifold, block and head Evo. Click on my Myspace below and check out my graphs. I make full boost at around 5200 to5300rpm on pump and on c16.
Looking at your mod list you need throw away some of your parts and replace it with better performing sh*t. I seen ALOT of no no's in there. To get the best performance from that 35r you need parts that work... check out that link below as well

In my opinion your main issue is the fact that you don't have cams, and more over your tune. You can tune the MIVEC to help spool, but it sounds like you need a new tuner. I know my tuner would never let me leave with my car if the tune wasn't 100%. I would contact JESTR for tuning. Patience is very important, you will be happy in the end
how do you expect to run a 35r with 23 psi? might as well stick with the stock turbo or something smaller like a 20g. with the 35r you should be boosting at least 28psi with race gas or meth. after that you'll be incredibly happy
i'll bash because i've been there before. i modded the $hit out of a car when i was 20 years old, and regretted it ever since. it was a cheap car, so at least that was a bit of relief, but i sunk wayyyy too much money into it.
the evo, on the other hand, is such a perfect car the way it is... if you feel like sinking extra money into it, prepare to deal with the consequences of modifying something way beyond its limitations.

what happened to the days of people maxing out stock turbo's or just running medium sized turbo's and running them in there PEAK performance ranges?
GT35 isnt really a 91 octane not built engine turbo meth or not. - IMO
why dont you read some compressor charts, decide the boost your going to run, what your goals are, track, street, whatever, and get the right turbo, and make sure you get the turbo you order. GL sir.

Alright,
Enough of people talking smack about how a 35r at 23 psi is a waste. True, you will get a lot more power at 30 psi, but at 23 psi the 35r is pushing a lot more air than the stock turbo. I tuned a 2.3 8 on a 35r that hit full spool at 4,000 and made over 380 on our uncorrected dynodynamics (thats 456 dynojet folks) at 22 psi on 93 pump gas from 4,000 all the way to the rev limitter.
Yes, thats a 2.3. But I wll tell you the worst 35r I have ever seen on an 2.0 8 spooled at 5,500 on the dyno. And that was some early hybrid b.s. that was know to spool later than any other 35r setup.
P.P.,
Take your car to a reputable tuner and explain the situation. They should do a boost leak test as a matter of course. They should also check out the tune and retune if neccesary. They should also be able to help you figure anything else that is wrong with your setup.
Also, don't throw any more parts at the probelm (stand alone, or meth) until you get the current setup sorted.
If you don't plan to run more than pump gas boost, you may want to consider a gt30 kit. You would be able to sell your current setup I'm sure, but If I were you I would try to get the setup you have sorted first.
Looking at pictures of other peoples kits isn't going to help sort out the problem. Get off the interwebs and take to car to someone that knows evo's.

Thanks for all the resonses guys.. Alot of people say the same things but i think i know what im going to do..
I personally dont think CAMS is going to solve the problem.. simple as that.. plus i dont have the money atm for cams+install.. so thats out of the picture.
NEXT, what i think in going to do is take the car back to the shop, have them run a boost leak test, maybe n exhaust leek test.. see if anythings leaking..
Then im going to have my tuner retune the car so its running strong, and try n get the turbo spooling where it should be. and possibly get it dynod soon
Also guys i already have meth and AEM EMS. Im just waiting on the funds to install/tune them.

pure playaer,im assume your talking about the 6 bolts holes on the turbine housing.thats what bolts the turbine housing to the center section(bearing housing).the ems and mostly the meth will make a huge improvement.i had cams on my car before the 35r so i cant say anything about that, but cams make a huge difference just on a stock turbo car.
