Official EVO Insurance Thread
It varies from state to state. New York tends to be a bit on the pricey side.
Looking to buy an Evo X in the burbs of Chicago. Been quoted anywhere from $1,800 per 6 months to $1,300. Esurance quoted me $1,126. Not too bad.
I'm sure this has been brought up in the forum but has anyone had any experiences with The General Insurance? I've heard mixed reviews from "horrible" to "amazing for the price." They're quoting me $79 a month.

Not sure if that's something I'd want to roll the dice with. Most "good" insurance carriers are still a pain to get to pay out on something, I'd hate to be dealing with one of the cheaper ones.
Yeah, I've heard of esurance, but that's about it and unfortunately YMMV with all of the carriers.
Have you ever dealt with insurance brokers? May not be a bad idea to talk to one of them. Ultimately they're still sales people, but they're sales people who in most cases have dealt with many more companies than most of us. I used one up until a few years ago when I absolutely wanted state farm.

ok man i just turned 21 and im on my second evo and have not gotten in one accident(knock on wood) with it. i got one speeding ticket in it in the 3 years of me having evo's...so dont say that just cause we r young we r not responsible...there are those who are and those who are not
i pay $400 a month for premium coverage with a spotless driving record (3 years no accidents or tickets)
With the above in mind, you still bought an Evo. There are many other cars available that are great in their own right, yet you chose to pay a horrendous premium to own and drive and Evolution. If you don't mind, can you tell us what attracted you to this car to such an extent?
^ It's not the worst I've seen. I knew someone who was payint $1200 PER MONTH for their Evo. But again, it was some well-off 19 year-old kid with four or five speeding tickets whose parents were paying for it.
