That's actually a great rate. Living in Miami as well, I pay about $250 with Geico per month with $500 deductible. ( clean record )

Not really. Insurance companies don't bump up rates because they feel like squeezing people to inflate their company's earnings; it happens because they need to mitigate losses. They expect there to be claims -- they know that stuff happens, so they just want to make sure that their loss ratios are within an acceptable range. But if that loss ratio goes into an unfavorable range, then they need to make adjustments to stay out of the red.

Again, it's not to say that they don't profit -- they're a business, and their whole reason to exist is to do just that (otherwise they will go out of business, just like any other operation, whether it's a clothing store or a restaurant or a bank).

And while we're at it, I pay $1,233 annually for a $500,000 CSL, UMBI, $250 comprehensive deductible (with $0 glass) and $500 collision deductible. I'm in Southern California and am 37, clean record.

Just looking at the first page of this thread and comparing it to the last page, the insurance prices have gone up for sure.

My Evo 8 was about $60-70 more than my Evo 9.

Anyone else notice this that have owned both an 8/9?

Only thing I can think of is many more 8's have been crashed and what not since production numbers were like 40% higher on the 8's. Similar to how Corvette insurance is much cheaper than a Camaro.

Evo 8 was like $168/mo and my new 9 is like $106/mo. Same coverage, I'm only one year older and same record.
