18 year old kid....new Evo IX....first time driving stick...BAD COMBO!!
Not trying to protect the kid or anything, he's a fool. But this situation is a bit different compared to others. He is 18 so he is legally an adult and he payed with it out of his pocket, so the argument about parents should not be made. BTW I DONT KNOW THE KID. I completely agree he was an idiot, he should not own the evo and most of all **** racing on a one lane? he should not have a license.
not a personal attack but I've always found it humerous when someone calls another person a "retard" but spells it completely wrong
I bought my 497whp Evo at age 17... No Accidents... Two tickets, both for exhaust. Nothing else.. And yes I did push the car, but I am not an idiot. Don't assume bull**** about kids being young=bad drivers. While most are, not all are.
What an idiot. I'd say the parents are at fault as well for raising such an irresponsible child and letting him get a car like this.
I bought my Evo with significant help from my parents when I was 19 (only 20 now) but I'm extremely grateful and responsible with my car. I have respect for money and take care of my car. Sounds like this kid doesn't share such values.
Most stereotypes about young drivers are, unfortunately, absolutely true. But there are those of us out there who are a little more responsible

Believe me, you're not impressing anyone "bragging" that you make a shocking $700 a week. True or not (and I'm guessing the latter), that alone shows your immaturity - never mind the abysmal spelling and grammar.

+1 ^^I ride a gixxer (its a sportbike for those old guys who dont know) jk. anyway i got it when i was sixteen and its been my dd for the past year and im still alive and haven't crashed into anything, so definitely not all younger people are as stupid as others may think. But getting back to the real post I feel bad for the poor evo hopefully the kid learns to drive responsibly.

i agree with parents having some fault in this but its also that idiots fault for being reckless.
i am 19 almost 20. i bought my evo with the help of my parents and some luck. I obsess on taking care of my car and only race it at local Auto-x events, i wish more people would be like this.

I'm twenty-one now
...
when I got my license (seventeen) I had a ford lightning that put out about 400rwhp
sold that got an sti full exhaust tune blah blah (got my first and only ticket in this car 54 mph in a 45 mph zone)
now I have my evo and only got pulled over for tint and my exhaust
Where I live, there are a bunch of retirees driving around in BMW's, Mercedes, and Cadillac’s and they are just as likely to kill you as dumb punk kids. They either drive way too slow or way too fast, no mediation. They weave all over the road, change lanes without looking, don’t use signals, stop or go when they want to regardless of signs, lights or traffic, as well as a plethora of other unsafe driving practices that seem to go unnoticed. A driver, any driver, regardless of age requires three things:
1. The ability to see
2. Respect for themselves (and their property) and others on the road (and their property)
3. A functioning concept of discernment
Too bad there are so many people with a license in their pocket that lack these qualities.
