Funny thing about this whole "kid" discussion.

I got pulled over for my exhaust 3 days ago. Cop takes my license and registration. Comes back and said the only reason that I'm not giving you a ticket is because I think its quite amazing that your 19 and have had the car for almost 8months and haven't gotten any tickets with it.

This kid must be made of money. Good job to his dad though for making the kid pay 12g himself even though the dad probably going to pay it for his son. Is this kid dumb or what. I would never ask the dealership about buying peformace parts from them. They charge so much and your going to lose your warranty. Even though the dealership warranty sucks.

I agree with you 10000%...as long as it's retroactive: I think it would be really funny to see about 50,000,000 drivers in this country fail the test because they are teh suck and end up not being allowed to drive their own cars anymore

Ahmen to that, my first car was a lifted 95 jeep 4.0 liter inline 6 with super swamper bogger tires, slow as $hit. then a 02 civic SI, now the evo. I learned how to drive slow before I learned how to drive fast with "the beast".

I would say that the kid just need a good lesson before getting into the Evo. It sucks to see such a nice car being trashed but at least he's ok. As far as insurance goes, it all depends on our driving history too. I remember paying like $1000 for six months premium on just liability back then but now, $320 for full coverage. Still high but waiting for one last ticket to fall off from the insurance side...

That is bull ****. cops can't just give ticket because you don't have one yet. That's racist... or is it stereotype

When I was 17, I had a 1.5L 93bhp Mirage WHOA! Then, I got in an accident. I was waiting for someboyd in front of me to make a left while a jeep behind me crested the hill and plowed right into my rear bumpe at ohhhhh 35mph? Yeah....totalled.

So I got another Mirage at the age of 18. 1.8L this time, 113bhp DAMN that thing was fast! (sarcasim?) Had the car for 5 years. I slapped a T25 turbo on it just last year and ran open external wastegate. And now it actually IS fast, haha. Easily keeps pace with my modded Evo. I only bought the Evo because I was haveing a hard time with the Mirages reliablity.

I have not had any accidents or spending tickets since I've had fast cars where as when I was younger, I had 3 tickets with slow cars. Young kids drive irrisponsibly. All of them? No. Most? Yes.

But hey, who buys an Evo to use as a comfortable daily driver for work everyday? Nobody. Sure, you may have bought an Evo and you DO use it to go to work everyday, but you wanted a fun, fast car... If people just wanted to a point a to point b car, an Evo shouldn't even be thought of to be on that list.

So everybody who buys an Evo drives fast everynow and then (Or else you bought it for the wrong reason), but when, how and where you drive it fast is what seperates mature people from immature people.

haha welcome, dont crash or everyone will get on your a$$ ...but furreal, the older people saying that they woulda done stupid **** when they were young has nothing to do with the younger guys now, just because your an idiot (or were ) doesnt meean that the younger guys are now. Laws are heavily enforced, there is alot of new stuff going on in drivers ed, there is alot more things influencing younger people to be better drivers which could lead to them being better than the older drivers, besides the experience part of course. Either way racing on the streets is the stupidest thing anyone can ever do, what does it prove...nothing especially when you dont know the other person or there isnt another person to begin with...you dont find out times or anything....so lets leave it for the tracks
