MSRP Dealer Listing
Wrench,
Which dealers in southern California? I just sold my car and need to find a BBY with wing and no sunroof and $27,000 sounds pretty good. It would be better to pay a little shipping then pay what they are asking around here.

Time of Purchase
True about the time of purchase, but I still think that you would be lucky to find a dealer that would be willing to go under invoice and start tossing out the holdbacks, advertising fees and so on. Truly sweet if you can find one that will, but not so bad if you get it at invoice either. Maybe next year will be different. Maybe not. It comes down to when you want to make the call, and drive. I'm speaking as someone that just went through the process of buying a week ago. I agonized over the price for weeks. The car is now sitting in the driveway. 1800 miles on the clock.
Another thing is that OTD, or "out-the-door" prices can vary wildly state to state. Even though the Governator rolled back the car tax, we still get hit pretty hard here in AH-noldfornia.

There are at least a dozen with this configuration and color in california, some in san diego county, some in orange county and some in LA county, some in the bay area. Some dealers have over 40 evos in stock!
Use the Mitsubishi web site and call all of the dealers. Ask for the Fleet or internet manager. Let them know you know about this forum. The ones with this car know about it. the quotes should range from $30,182 down to $27,000. When you get to the right guy, you'll know it. Be polite!
Interestingly, the lower priced dealers were nicer to me. If you are finding they won't go that last couple of hundred and you want accessories, this is the time to throw them in the mix.
For example, the sport meter kit lists for $464 plus install and a frame to say total $650. if you want it, tell them How about $27,500 with the kit and wing? That deal was offered with wheel locks, cargo tray OTD for $30300 (about $27,750) this week.
Break down on this last deal:
Cargo tray $75
Sport Meter Kit installed$650 (dealer picks up $2-$300 here at least)
Wheel Locks $25
Wing $418
Tax about $2300
DMV about $230
Car $26,602
Total $30,300
Once you find it, have them fax you the invoice, contract, and make sure the VIN number is there. This quote was based on all cash deal or buyer pre-arranged financing. Don't start shopping until cash is in place or some of these guys won't play.
BBY In San Diego w/Wing NO roof
Bullfrog,
I'm a Mitsubishi Dealer in Wisconsin, I have the ability to run the locator throughout the country and I ran your car with your specs in the San Diego area. There are 5 to your specs in the San Diego area. They are at the following dealers:
Poway
Bob Baker
Tustin
Tuttle
Anaheim
Bob Baker & Tustin have had theirs for 1 month. Tuttle & Anaheim were shipped to them on 12/10 and may not even be on the ground at their dealership yet. When I read Wrench's post on some dealers having as many as 40 EVO's I had to find out for myself. I DID NOT run EVERY district in California, just San Diego and right now the most ANY dealer has in the San Diego district is 10 with a total of 63 EVO's in the district.
The offer that you are going to make is BELOW net cost. I wish you luck with your offer. Keep in mind that Wrench's quotes have all been quotes over the phone. It is VERY EASY for a dealer to promise a price over the phone to get you in the door and then put you on the elevator once you get there. Good Luck

Yep ~
I went to a couple dealers with the same numbers I found here and they told me they would not sell a vehicle below cost. It doesn't make sense for them to do that. I suppose you could make it happen, but it's not very likely. I'm not playing devil's advocate here, I'm just relaying actual experience.

BBY EVO w/wing (no roof) in WEST Region
Wrench really had me going to find the 40 EVO dealer. Spent a little more time searching the districts/dealers in Southern Calf. This is what I found. I searched 3 districts San Francisco, San Diego, & Sacremento. The most any dealer had in these 3 districts was 25 EVO's which was Capitol Mitsubishi in the San Francisco area. They must do VERY WELL with EVO's because NOT ONE was 90 days old.
There are a TOTAL of 13 EVO's to Bullfrogs specs in the WEST REGION. Here are ALL the dealers that have the BBY w/wing a NO roof:
Poway Mitsu - Poway CA
My Mitsu - Salinas CA
Browning Mitsu - Cerritos CA
Appleway Mitsu - Spokane WA
Glendale Mitsu - Glendale CA
Hawaii Mitsu - Aiea HI
San Bernardino Mitsu - San Bernardino CA
Bob Baker Mitsu - Carlsbad CA
Tustin Mitsu - Tustin CA
Long Beach Mitsu - Long Beach CA
Tuttle-Click Mitsu - Irvine CA
Stevens Creek Mitsu - Santa Clara CA (They have 2)
Anaheim Mitsu - Anaheim CA
I won't be able to help anyone else until Thursday, I'm leaving tomarrow to go to SAN DIEGO to watch the PACKERS beat the Chargers (at least I HOPE).
FYI: Today I ordered my cars from my District Manager. THERE ARE NO 04's to ORDER YET. Which means there will be NO 04 EVO's until APRIL '04 at the earliest. He further told me that they will ONLY make 4200 '04's. The new leaders will not get caught in the same game of OVER PRODUCTION like the last leaders did. Everything the NEW LEADERS have promised since they took over in September they have delivered which can not be said for the past management.
Happy Holidays!!

Anthony,
I don't like plugging a dealership, but Rueben, the sales manager at Santa Monica Mitsubishi says he has 44 Evos. Manley in Santa Rosa told me he checked with Cypress who said there are about 680 in the western states.
Notice there are only 11 in now in California now. Adam in Van nuys has one hitting the ground in a week or so. One was sold and it sold for the above specs and more than one dealer was willing to do that deal. I saw the car. I saw the deal. I saw the paper, I saw the check that was written. That deal went through holdback and into flooring.
One dealer told me if this car (an evo, not this color/set up) sits for more than 120 days, he'll write it down.
Thems the facts.
So, anyone wanting that scheme can call the 12 dealers left and get that deal, if the two dealers left are still willing to put it on the table with all of this advertising we're giving them.
Must of Been a HECK of a day for Santa Monica Mitsu
Wrench,
WHY NOT PLUG A DEALERSHIP that is selling the EVO at a loss. You have no problem telling everyone about these great deals, but yet don't name ANY specific dealer. I don't deny that there are 700 Evo's on West Coast. This is true, but Santa Monica Mitsubishi which has 3 stores by that name, ONLY has 25 on the ground. (They could have more incoming) In fact 2 of the 3 don't have ANY. The one Santa Monica Mitsu dealer that has the 25 on the ground has (14) with roof & CF spoiler (3) with roof and small spoiler & (8) with CF spoiler and NO ROOF.
Bullfrog merely asked where he could get that deal, but didn't even tell him where he could find the car. Give em what he wants...THE INFO.

First of all they are not selling at a loss. If you consider the price a loss, then you are either paying more than these guys to Mitsubishi, or you are not counting both your holdback and flooring as well as labor and mark-up on the accessories toward your profit. That's your perogative.
As far as the 44 evos, call Rueben. He's a nice guy. He'll tell you. He might be holding some in storage off of the dealer search. I never said he had ONLY BBY w/ CF.
As far as naming dealers, as I said above, telling bullfrg which one has the car will get that dealer about 50 calls on the car and it won't go for the low price. You wouldn't sell that car if all of a sudden you got a bunch of calls on a specific one. As it is, even with a dozen dealers called out, they're all probably getting calls now. But then you knew that didn't you, and he won't get such a favorable reception.
Check out how many views these posts get. They get about 200 an hour. If 10 percent are thinking of buying an evo, they should spread themselves out over the entire network of dealers, not just 12 or they'll get into a bidding war with themselves. Your way plays into your hands. My way plays into the potential buyer's.
That's why I don't name dealers.
If I plug a dealer, then it looks like I work for them. I don't.
Check out the posts from a guy that goes by evomadness. He tried to sneak by as an owner and got flamed because he was a dealer. This is the EVo General forum. It's not a place for you to drive up the price. This topic is about the best price people can get. This deal went down. You say it's below cost? fine it's below cost. dealers are dumping the car to generate revenue. Their perogative. I don't buy that it's at a loss.
Bullfrg, If you can't get this deal, thank Anthony Porcaro. He's not your friend. You might want to change your color/roof mix.
And as far as 04's are concerned, check out Automobile Magazine, the one all of dealers are touting about the car of the year; It says they'll be here in January. Even if they aren't, the word is still out there and people are waiting.
Anyone want to drive out to Port Huneme, go down Arcturus Street in Oxnard and look over the fence, take some picture of the EVO's there? I heard a rumor the RS's are there and you can see their rear view mirrors and door handles. They are black and the cars are white or Red I think.

Glendale Mitsubishi, I have a blue one with and one without a sunroof. Call Chad at 818-937-5043.
Through the month of December, you can get any EVO in stock with the exception of the one with all accessories for $500 over invoice. I have no problem showing you invoice either.
As for holdback and all that, sorry but I don't see it therefore as far as I'm concerned the Invoice is Invoice.

What does sitting at home extrapolating numbers and relaying rumors have to do with any sort of reality? No one wants to drive down to the port and get an *** full of doberman, they want to drive an evo. People come to this board for factual information on purchase, not theories. If this guy has your car at such a good deal why don't you just go buy it Wrench? I for one would be interested in seeing a copy of the paperwork.

The numbers are a fact.
This exact configuration sold at that price on Wednesday. I spoke with two other dealers willing to match the price too.
A close friend of mine bought the car and I helped with the deal.
The dealership has been mentioned in this thread.
I don't blame you for being skeptical though. What would be my motivation to lie? Either the deal is there or it isn't. Those who want to look for it can try. I'm just posting that the deals are out there, that I have witnessed. I could show you the paper work, and then you could say that I doctored it (not that you would though). Your best bet would be to make the calls if you are curious.
The sales manager who sold this car said he wouldn't mind if I posted the numbers, and he's got similar cars. He said he'd do similar deals, so if you reach the right people, you'll get the deal.
As I said above. If I name a dealer, he'll get a lot of calls and will sell for more $, so why wreck a good thing for members of this site.
Think about it. what if I did it your way and Anthony's, the dealer with a lot of calls and interest will get more for his cars with all of the exposure he'd get here. The serious buyers willing to do a little work will be rewarded. I don't want to screw that up.
I do appreciate the doubt though. Debate is good. I think this way is best for the members trying to buy.

I already reported where I got it and for how much. I'll say it again. Invoice at Concord Mitsu. I checked out the invoice. I bought the car. Done deal. That worked for me, and I have 1800 miles on the car already.
If your big crusade is to drive the prices down, then how is it that you seem to be the only person with access to these amazing deals, as opposed to the people who have actually bought cars? Why not go buy one and start driving?
No debate needed. No vague statements and passive-aggressive paranoia about dealers required. This is the MSRP thread in the EVO general forum, not the debate club.
Less talk, more throttle!

That was a bunch of info. Thanks!
