Evo 8 or srt-4 ?
I've loved and wanted the Evo since the moment it came to our shores so you know where I stand, but you can't discredit the performance of the srt4, I've seen evo's underestimate them and lose to them, of course the evo is better on a track, but you don't drive on a track everyday. I love the Evo and respect the bang for the buck srt4.
I had an 04 Srt, and it was fun an all, had stage 2 with full intercooler pipes exhaust, had alot of mods but, once i sold it and got an 05 evo could not been any happier i love the EVO it is a well put together car.
Hope this helps

But I have to inform you.
The music is
Isn't that with a 3 speed racing transmission and ther stuff??
I had a 2004 SRT-4. It was a piece of crap and got lemoned out. I would never own another one again, but I don't have anything against them personally. I wouldn't go back to FWD for performance though.
This is an informative video:

1) SRT's are well built. Engine supports 400 before the BS chain must be cut and a oil pump needs to be changed. Then if the tune is spot on 475 is very possible(with 475 in torque
). Tranny can handle 500 ish, the input shaft is the weak point. Some have stated that a third gear pop out, but i have owned 2 and drove them like i stole them and never had that problem. Semi nice interior, at least think better tha the evo. The big problem with this car is the PCM and turbo. It pretty much max's at 6000rpm, and reflashes just became available(big lawsuit over the past 2 years). The turbo is built in to the exh mani. The good- Fast spool, the bad- not good up top. Dig's are hard, to say the least. I have out lauched cobra' on DR's but i have had mine for a minute. It takes some getting used to but very do able.
2) Evo is well rounded. You get what you pay for, Good brakes. Better turbo. The driveline is fun to a certain point, i dont think you'll be in need of any performance up grades there depeding on what type of modifications you go.
If fun is what you want and your on a budget then just get the SRT. Its reliable, semi cheap to fix, fun to listen to (i think so, then again i could be
). The SRTis a fun car and in any race against a evo (with the same mods) it will walk it from a roll. Lots of torque. From a dig, nope.
