I just got my car back a few weeks ago from it sitting in the driveway for two months. I just got a new act clutch and flywheel installed. now its about 2 weeks after i got it back and it is making a loud whining noise when im doing over 30mph and touch the gas light or hard in any gear. i can't tell where it is coming from but it only makes it when doing 30 mph or more. Any ideas? thanks

Is it the dreaded death whine?

 

Was someone driving it while you were gone or whatever?

It sounds like you went somewhere (like on vacation) and while you were gone you had the clutch and flywheel replaced by someone and then the car sat for the rest of the time that you were gone. Now that you're back you're driving the car and it is starting to make strange noises. Am I right? A better explanation as to what happened when would be appreciated.

no the car wasnt driven at all for 2 month because it needed a clutch. i took it to turbotrix and got a clutch and flywheel installed. Now i have been driving it around for 2 weeks and it is making this noise. i just watched the videos with t-case whine. it sounds just like it but it isn't as loud and it sounds about the same volume as speed increases. i have only had this noise for about a day or 2 is there anything i can do to save my car??

 

its that horrible noise an animal makes befor it dies but for a car hahah

 

I was going to ask what kind of fluid the shop used in the TCase then I saw TT installed it. They know to use proper fluids.

How do you drive your car? Do you launch the crap out of it?

 

i only launched it when i went to the track which i made 5 passes at which was a few months ago.

 

Did you ever experience any wheel hop? Be it on the track or on the street?

If it sounds like an air raid siren (except it stays constant with the speed of the car instead of the siren turning in all directions and thus lowering and raising the tone that you hear) then it's the death whine. There's threads out there on it, and there's even video of it. Search if you're scared.

 

Go cruise up to 80mph and see if you can still hear the noise if so then it might be your TC .Better yet have TT look at it
