Another Mpg Thread?!?!?!?! Seriously?
28mpg, 70 mph average highway, 37psi front /rear for the tires. No aftermarket stereo and minimum throttle mashing. But if you are concerned with mpg, buy a Prius. The Porsche 914 gets 10mpg at 120mph. An EVO is not an econocar. Enjoy it, as it will return the favor. P.S. Get the car tuned by someone who knows what they are doing. Mellon=more power and more mpg. Ask and you shall receive...power. Welcome to EVOM.net

My concern isn't the MPG it's self. My concern was the sudden decrease, as if something was wrong. The car is known for poor MPG in the first place, and in my opinion 230-250/tank is poor MPG, and I was ok with that. But the fact that it suddenly got worse with no change in driving caught me off gaurd, that is all. So please, don't tell me to buy a Prius.
Are you guys honestly thinking about decreasing headlights useage to increase mpg? Go in a diet. Take off your wing. Increase your tire pressures all around. The alcohol content in gasoline increases in the winter so don't be alarmed. Just, please, dont blame the headlights.
We're both on the same page on when our cars hit open/closed loop, if you read my last post I stated you hit open loop above 3k.
Where we disagree is that you think city driving involves not shifting above 3k, which is impossible for me as I rev over 3k all the time. I wish I had the discipline you have.

I try my hardest, I shift between 3-4 mostly 3k-3.5K but I don't accel like I am trying to beat every car at the light. I have to admit I got like this after I started to watch my boost gauge, the funny thing is that now I do not have a boost gauge but the custom still remains
I drive it a little faster than the traffic, just to get away from any possible person sleeping on the road, i dunno my dad and mom told me that a fast car looks sweet when its going slow; its fast and has nothing to prove
until the time comes at the autoX or something

^ Who has gotten 30 mpg in an Evo? I figure the best I could ever do, realistically speaking, is probably just under 27 on a fantastic day. And that's with a lot of restraint, as observing all speed limits on a 200+ mile round trip yielded 26.22 mpg for me.
Not to be a jerk but "probably" doesn't mean much, unless you can provide numbers. The only reason why I say that is because there were other times when I was driving very conservatively and based on how I drove and where the fuel gauge needle was, I was "probably" getting X mpg, though when I actually calculated it, I was still far from what I thought I'd get.
wow im suprised that alot of people are getting 230+ dang i havent seen that since i got my car LoL..i can barely get 200 of a Full tank, maybe i should stop boosting but then that takes the fun of driving an EVO oh well whatever
