Another Mpg Thread?!?!?!?! Seriously?
i get about 19 in city driving. i noticed that evos get crap highway mileage in comparison. maybe it's cuz the 5 sp cruises above 3k at highway speeds... or maybe i'm just driving too fast.
Granted it's nothing fantastic, but they don't get crap highway gas mileage. I don't mean to repeat myself, but I've broken 25 mpg quite a few times. If you can't hit 25 mpg in a stock Evo doing all highway miles at least once, then you just have too heavy of a right foot, which is silly when you're just lugging along the freeway.

I document every tank of gas and can usually recall how I drove. Most recently, my last tank of gas averaged 27.07 mpg, and I was typically driving right around 75 mph with the A/C on about 80% of the time throughout that tank of gas. Prior to that, I had gotten a tank averaging 26.73 mpg driving a little under 80 mph with the A/C on about 2/3 of the time and being in a little bit of traffic. So I'm clearly not driving like a grandma on the slow lane, it's all in your throttle input.
You just have to learn how to be more precise with the throttle. SO many drivers think that they're driving conservatively, but in reality they bury the throttle every time they want to increase their speed by a few mph. Even though it's only for a brief moment, tiny things like that are what keep most drivers from achieving the best mileage possible.

This is 90% highway driving (Lansing, MI - Chicago ), trip usually leaves about 1/8 of tank to drive in the city. I round trip this route about every 2 weeks.

Be real about your numbers
I have an 05' with roughly 51K on the meter. Lightly modded(exhaust, Street tune, Walbro, Blitz intake). And daily drive her : exactly 18.5 miles. I'm getting 23.5--25.9 HWY. 19.5-20MPG CITY. I say shift shift a lot. Rally cars are meant to be shifted a lot.( Well thats if you're fairly stock like me.)
Since most of my driving is on HWY I took of the wing. I usually max 77MPH into & out of Atlanta there simply no reason for the wing. I definately think if ATL traffic is not so bad, my figure will likely approach 28 if not 30.
MPG Figures will significantly go up without the spare tire. (Just get road side assistance in your insurance.) and lay of the burgers & biggie sized fires

I normally get about 24-25mpg. With winter coming up I bet I'll dip to 18-19mpg range again. I'm a pretty conservative driver...most of the time. Even though I live in freaken Omaha, there's almost always traffic to where I can hardly have any fun with my car. That's probably a good thing since I've done some stupid things when I was a kid.
I'm drive with a mix of about 60% hw / 40% city.
