searched the forum pretty good for the answers, but couldn't find any.

so, i have a clicking noise that's coming from my engine bay. it seems to be coming from the left side. remember when you guys used put a card by the spokes of your bicycle in order to make it sound like a small motor? well that's the clicking sound it's making. it only makes the sound under load around 2500 and higher. it seems to click along with the rpms, higher you go in rpm, the faster it goes, kinda like the bike spoke-card thing. when the car isn't moving, there is NO clicking on idle or even when you rev up the motor. it seems to be speed related in conj. with the rpms only. let's see how many evo pros are out there?

is it ur lifters ticking. when was ur last oil change, and do u let ur car warm up before u drive it.

last oil change was friday, and it has been clicking for maybe a few months. and yes i warm up my car before i roll out usually about 10 mins since its winter and i live in WA now.

injectors?!? how bout you expand on that instead of stating something without backing it up. i've had 680's installed and there have been no problems with them. how could they be making a clicking sound.

 

the activation of the solenoid on the injectors make a clicking sound and it's normal.

sounds like lifters. have you done a cam install recently?

 

yeah i had the same problem

and get good oil lol..when i changed oil it stopped ticking.

 

no cam install, not just yet.

i use mobil 10-30

hmm. could be. i checked the sound this morning and it does seem to be coming from the front area, around the exhaust mani.

 

i hope its nothing too crazy. i'll find out tomorrow when i head down to english racing for a flash.
