S4 or Evo

OK guys here is the deal. Im a 20 year old air force guy lookin for a new toy and my 1st real car thats all my own. Not my 1st car though just the 1st I have bought on my own.

Evo = Fun 4 door thats fast *** hell. I been lookin out info on this for a few months. Probably going that the XI if I do. Great to hang out with friends and rape anything in your price bracket

S4 = Fun 4 door thats more laid back but still quick. Know some what about. Nice to take a date on while still beating up on some cars on the way home

Both are around 25-30k. Not gettin the newest style S4 because thats to high.
I'm going to keep doing research but wanted some opinions to. Sorry if this has been asked 100 million times. Thanks for the help

Surprisingly, (or maybe not), the Evo itself has landed me quite a few dates.

If you're looking to upgrade and modify the car, then definately an Evo would suit your needs perfectly. If you plan on leaving it stock, you can't go wrong with either one.

If you are paying 25-30k for a B5 S4, you are getting robbed. The S4 will cost you a ton in maintenance and repairs. Not to mention all modifications are way more expensive. One with 70k miles should go for around 17k if its in excellent condition. I would go with the Evo it is much more reliable and cheaper to make fast. Although the S4 is much more fun and comfortable to drive every day and is a great sleeper.

s4's are fun. refined turbo 6cyl. very nice and comfortable to drive. the evo however is well lets just say more fun to drive and has alot of potential to carry you "into the blue" lol. both very nice cars. but in the end it will boil down to what u really want man. good luck with your purchase.

Yea this cant be a B5s4 - The newer s4s are nice. But like with a lot of Audi/VWs they get plagued with electrical problems and because its an audi it will cost 2x what normal stuff costs.

If you were upgrading it, the exhaust alone on an S4 will cost you as much as a turbo kit on an evo.

I actually sold my A6 and bought my evo. The audi kills the evo in Ride/Noise/Comfort.

But the fun of the evo is 10x more than any of those.

There is a few audi mod sites, really nice cars but just too hard to maintain.

^this guy has both cars^ so his opinion is the one your looking for and anyone else who has driven or owns both cars.

For me the evo is really a rough car, its a no-luxury car. Buts thats why you buy the car you wanna go fast. The girls that are into modded cars like riding in the evo but the girls who dont like modded cars hate HATE riding in my car.

I used to drive Audis all the time when I was stationed in Germany and loved them. They are great highway cars but if you are looking for something that is more connected to the road and more fun then an Evo is what you want.

BMW, Audi, VW and Mercedes must really over charge for stuff... Modding them will be more expensive, that's a given. But routine maint. on the Porsche is cheaper than the Evo, and the few things that I have had to fix have been roughly the same price as the Evo parts, but labor has been cheaper. Dealer service FTL.

I love our Audi TT, and we almost traded it for a newer style S4 but realized we were too upside down on the TT to make it worth it (my family, it isn't mine). I have driven one of the older S4s as well. IMO, I'd get the Evo, unless I had back problems. It really comes down to personal pref like a lot of cars. If we were all just buying the cheapest/fastest then we'd be in serious trouble. Pref is everything. Drive both if you can, get an idea. And F worrying about what car is better for dates, that doesn't even freaking count, you're not buying a 200 dollar 1984 buick or an S4. You're buying an Evo or an S4

i went from a b5 s4 (stage II+) (chip tbe) to the evo for maintenance/cost of ownership reasons. As Jordan S4 mentions the s4 is FAR FAR more expensive to maintain and modify. From a daily driver/comfort level perspective the s4 wins. i would go with the evo hands down, cheaper to run, more reliable and you get great bang for you buck on mods if you choose to mod

I've done a clutch job on an S4, never again. I'd rather perform 3 clutch jobs on an evo than doing a single clutch job on an S4.

I have both B5S4 and Evo IX. I take the evo if i want to play around and have fun. The handling on the Evo is the best so far. I take the S4 out if I want a quiet and calm yet still have the need for speed urge. The handling on the S4 needs a lot of work.

Just like everyone says. What kind of driving style are you looking for? Also, modding and maintaining an S4 is a lot of money but with the price of a B5 now, you can buy a B5 S4 and do the maintanance and turbo for the price of an Evo9.

PM me if you have any specific questions about the two. Ill be glad to help.

btw: Im trying to sell my evo if you are intersted : )

I think pulling up in an Evo 11 would definitely get you a date.

Don't worry...the Evo will pull in the ladies too and it's of course better than a S4.

Get a IX and never look back
