I simply changed the head unit and now the speakers rock!! Do that first!! They can take a lot more power than the factory unit puts out...

1. clutch slipping at >6k, i drove my celica gts 10x's harder, more often, hard launching, running through the gears quickly and i never had a spot of problems with the clutch/tranny. i had it for 1 1/2 years for about 15k miles...with my evo, it's already slipping.. it sucks

2. lack of 6 gear... with all the power this bad boy has, sixth gear would have fit in perfectly... screw the 0-60, screw the 1/4 mile times, i'll trade a couple tenths of a second for another gear

3. dash plastic/door sills get scratched easy... i hate people riding in my car because some people aren't as careful as i am of course....

The plastic ring around the shifter boot. I wish someone would come out with a nice, aluminum replacement.

The clutch isn't that bad.. You can't even compare the GTS to the EVO.. The Evo has waayyy more weight than the GTS.. Also, the GTS is FWD.. Barely anything to turn.. Meanwhile the EVO is AWD with tons more parts to turn, therefore more wear on a certain part.. Be more careful with the car.. They are not the same... You can drive the EVO very hard, you just have to drive it with respect...

To meny people look at it.

Kinda scared to parket on the street or shopping market.

But I really like very thing else. My black car's paint is not bad at all. My z3's paint sucked more then the Evo's.

Still can't get over the wing. Fells like someone is tailgating me but the car does not look right with out it.

Eric

Lacks paint color options.
Lacks Cruise Control.
Lacks Sequential Manual Transmission (6 speed would just be a peace offering for these transgressions)
Lacks Full Underbody Aerodynamic Paneling

Praying remedies these in 2004.

Hence the notchy shifter.
Obviously you know nothing about the Evo's heritage or the history of it.

The current Lancer that you see over here in the US, is simply something that they derived from the Evo overseas. The Evo is something completely different, made on a completely different manufacturing process and even in a different plant.

It is not a Lancer with a turbo or awd "slapped" on it. It's something built from the ground up. Have you ever driven a normal Lancer? If not, try it. You should notice a HUGE difference in the feel of the car.

Yea, the stock head unit puts out about 140watts. That's about 24 watts per speaker. I think those are rated at about 50 watts/channel.

I put a new head unit in, that does 52x4 power output and wow, does it make a difference. It does need a little more bass though, but the sound quality and feel went up a ton.

1. Poor paint.
2. Too much body roll. "need heavy springs"
3. No ACD/ front LSD option

Everything else is adequate or can be fixed.

Well then the RSX is just a cheap Civic that they slapped a better engine in a glued in a 6 speed.

Shifter feel between a FWD Honda and an AWD Mitsubishi shouldn't necessarily be equal, and isn't a yardstick in determining the better car.
