the silver paint is just fine. I used to drive a 91 S10, then a 99 grand prix and my friends evo is just cool compared. The shifter is spot on. Notchy? No-snicky.

No complaints, reallly...

I had two VW's before my Evo and I really miss the computer (MFA?, MFV?) that was a combination 1) trip odo 2) mpg reading 3) oil temp 4) outside temp. It also told me how long the car had been running since I started it. I realize that I could look at a watch and do the math myself, but I haven't had to do it for the last 8 years.

Another cool thing about VW's is that the cigarette lighter stays on when the car is off. I could charge my cell phone in my car overnight. I miss that.

I wish would have put more thought into the front-end styling. I have to do a double take whenever I see a Pontiac Vibe or a Mazda MP3 dead on from the front.

Standard alarm, remote trunk release, reinforced floor mats, cupholders that will hold a supersize pop. Little things that I wish were different, but there's NFW that I would rather be driving any other car but an EVO!

crappy stock radio, floor mats always shifting, no boost gauge, brakes squeal when pushed hard (at the track), and wheels get dirty quickly.

but those are just minor gripes. I love the car overall.

With all the fussing here (without getting into safety and emissions), I can now see why car companies refrain from bringing their high performance cars to the US market! It’s the same reason why they try to make a perfectly nice sports car into a luxury car. Look at the M3; look at what they've done to it? Look at the VW GTi. We get American tuned suspension while Europe get the good stiff sprort suspension etc. Americans like their cars to feel like a boat...floating.

I don't understand how some of you have floor mats that shift around. Do you not have a hook that holds the mat back?

Man what a ***** session. The car is not this bad people, and I used to have a NSX and got a evo and I like the EVO better then the NSX. I looked at cars form 100k down and got the EVO because of what it can do for the money. I knew when I got it that it needed more power but everything else was pretty much done with it. I have had 0 problems with the paint, I put 4 coats of zymol on the car when it has 250 miles and it has been fine. You should know that mitsu has suck *** paint. look at a 1991 mitsu anything. Wax it wash it every week and enjoy it. EVERY car has it's problems even the NSX with it's suck *** clutch and eating back tires, but at least I don't have to pay 1800.00 for a cat back for my evo.

eh

12.7 MOST compact sports car runs 13-14 gallons.

You wont miss 1 gallon. its only 18 miles.

I do admit the STI impresses me with a 16gallon tank.

4 - color matching between mirrors, doors, handles, etc on the yellow Evo - man I should have gotten Silver
5 - harsh ride for daily driver - love the power and handling, just wish the interior was a bit more comfortable
6 - shifting problems, compared to 6sp RSX the clutch and tranny are just bad, I kind of wish the Evo was a Honda
1 - It is a Japanese car. What do you expect besides acres of plastic?

2 - high performance brakes squeak. It is natural.

3 - Mine is too, 1100 miles one way from Western KY to Eastern Virginia...glad I had the car bra thing solely for that trip.

4 - I got black

5 - Recaro Seats, tight steering, and stiff suspension make it feel as crisp as it does on the track. That is like saying a 4wd truck should handle like a car on the road.

6 - BITE YOUR TONGUE! If it was a Honda Evo, we would have seen numbers like 271 HP and 105 Torque.

I love my car to death. it's a friggin Evo. I have been after one of these for like 8 years now. Ever since I bought my first GSX and I really got in to the whole turbo/all wheel drive thing.

1. Driver seat is falling apart (cloth is comming un-done from the seat on the bot. left as well as the back.

2. NO LUMBAR AJDUSTMENT!! My back hurts when I make any trip over 20 min!

3. No cruise control!?! WTF? I would give up my water sprayer for this! I would at least get more use of the cruise control, plus I would be able to feel it working/making a difference.

4. Tranny feels like it was made out of glass! Plus revs too high while in 5th gear crusing on the HW (4K) Should have been 6speed!

I mean I could see 5th gear rev-ing at 4K if the car was actually fast in that gear, but when ever I shift to 5th in a race everyone pulls away (STi especially!!)

To the guy that got "walked" by the G-35...the evo with four people in at was about 600 punds heavier than the G-35, which weighs in at about the same weight as the evo...think aboutthe evo 600 pounds less in a race with a comparable car...it's just physics.
